Abstract:
An installation tool for installing wire connectors used in forming an insulated splice between the stripped ends of insulated electrical wires. The tool includes an elongated, generally hollow body drive member adapted to rotatably retain two cylindrically-shaped wrench heads. The wrench heads are provided with a receptacle each of which is adapted to receive a different size wire connector therein. The body drive member includes an interiorly disposed one-way clutch which coacts with each of the wrench heads and couples rotational torque thereto applied to the body drive member. In addition, the wrench heads may be provided with apertures which function as gauges to guide in installer as to the amount of insulation to be removed or stripped from the ends of the wires before installing a wire connector thereon. The wrench heads are each further provided with a coaxially disposed aperture adapted to receive an auxiliary drive member. Alternatively, the body drive member may be provided with a coaxially disposed aperture adapted to receive the auxiliary drive member.
Abstract:
A plier-like hand tool adapted for installing wire fabric fence clamps is provided. The hand tool has one jaw terminating in an elongated projection adapted to cooperate with an aperture provided proximate one hook-shaped terminal end of a wire fabric fence clamp and a second jaw terminating in a tapered transverse edge adapted to cooperate with another hook-shaped terminal end of the fence clamp. The transverse edge of the second jaw includes a protrusion adapted to cooperate with a cut-out or slot provided in the other terminal end of the fence clamp. The hand tool is also provided with a flat hammer-like surface located on the second jaw which may be used for bending the hook-shaped portions of the fence clamp into permanent engagement with one another.
Abstract:
A receptacle in the form of a dummy receptacle for insulating, shielding and providing a watertight seal at an open bushing, the receptacle being provided with a capped test point and a bail which straddles the test point, the bail and the test point cap being so located relative to one another as to be gripped simultaneously with a hot-stick for removal of the cap and exposure of the test point and for installation and removal of the receptacle.
Abstract:
An installation tool for inserting a panel insert into a panel by rotation and advancement of the insert until the working face of the insert is flush with the outer surface of the panel, the tool having means for assisting the attainment of such a flush relationship and indicating means for signalling the arrival of the working face of the insert in flush relationship with the outer surface of the panel.
Abstract:
A self-latching security device for public coin-operated telephones includes spring-biased latch pins which replace security mounting screws to simplify installation of such telephones with requisite security against theft of the telephone or the coin collection box of the telephone.
Abstract:
The reflector is constructed of transparent material and has a plurality of cube-corner reflector elements at the rear and a light-receiving face at the front. Each of the reflector elements has an element axis and a cube axis with an angle other than 0* therebetween. Each of the reflector elements has an outline in the shape of a regular polygon when projected in a plane perpendicular to the element axis. The faces of each element are symmetrically arranged with respect to the cube axis. The element axes of the reflector elements are all parallel to one another.
Abstract:
A plurality of processes are disclosed for producing novel hose means characterized by an oblong-shaped inside transverse crosssection and being fabricated from a material having elastic memory. The elastic memory material is extruded about an oblong die and suitably treated to form a tube normally having a flattened ribbon-like condition along substantially its entire length. A reinforcing layer may then be applied about the tube and an outer covering extruded over the reinforced tube. Exemplary elastic memory materials which may be employed to produce the tube and/or the outer covering for same comprise thermoplastic or thermosetting materials.
