    摘要： A food delivery system for use in a hospital or other institution is disclosed. The system comprises a portable cart having compartments for receiving stackable food trays therein. A platform operated by a lever mechanism is provided on the cart for stacking the trays in intimate contact with each other to form a vertical thermal column for retaining heat or cold during transporting of the trays. During loading and unloading the platform is lowered to permit the trays to rest on ''''L'''' brackets which are spaced such that each tray is out of contact with every other tray.

    摘要： A vacuum insulated container has a double-walled filler with the space between the walls being evacuated so as to provide a vacuum insulating space. A jacket for the filler is provided by foaming in place a foamable plastic material of the type forming a relatively hard or impervious skin around the filler which adheres to the entire outer surface of the outer wall of the filler. A stopper and cup, the latter functioning as a cover, are also shown. The impervious skin could also be made by rotational or blow-molding a flexible vinyl skin and inserting the filler before foaming a flexible foam between the skin and the filler.

    摘要： This application discloses a food service system consisting of a plurality of trays formed from an insulating material as by molding. Each tray may have one or more receptacles to receive food holding containers. The bottoms of the receptacles open into coextensive inverted dish portions which may receive the upper portion of a food holding container in a vertically aligned receptacle in the tray beneath. When stacked, the matching receptacles and inverted dish portions form a series of compartments in a vertical column into which foods of like temperature may be put. Upper and lower closures may be provided for insulation at the top and bottom of a stack of trays. Also disclosed is the provision of heated or cooled means at the bottoms of one or more of the vertical columns to help maintain the food at the desired temperature.

    摘要： A device for sensing the presence or absence of a flowable material in response to the thermal conductivity thereof, comprising a probe including first and second thermistors adapted to be surrounded by flowable material, energizing means for energizing said first thermistor with sufficient power to cause substantial heating thereof, said energizing means including means for supplying said second thermistor with a small amount of power insufficient to cause substantial heating thereof, said second thermistor affording a reference resistance responsive to the ambient temperature of the flowable material, a cycle timer connected to said energizing means for alternately energizing and deenergizing said first thermistor, said first thermistor being energized for a heating cycle and then deenergized for a cooling cycle, a comparator comprising a differential amplifier for comparing the voltages across said first and second thermistors, a trigger device connected to said differential amplifier and having first and second outputs which are activated alternately in accordance with whether the resistance of said first thermistor is above or below a predetermined control point, first and second gates connected to said first and second outputs, a delay timer connected to said cycle timer and including a pulse generator for generating a momentary pulse after a predetermined delay from the beginning of said heating cycle, means for supplying said momentary pulse to said gates to actuate said gates, a memory device having first and second inputs connected to said gates, said memory device being operable alternately to first and second states in response to pulses from said gates, and means including an output relay connected to said memory device to indicate the state of said memory device.
