摘要: The present invention provides for a method and apparatus for bending multiple sheet of thin glass at the same time on a single set of molds. Multiple sheets of thin glass are stacked onto a full surface female mold. A partial surface male mold is placed onto the thin glass stack. The male mold serves to hold the edges in place and prevents the formation of wrinkles as the glass is heated and sags to conform to the shape of the female mold. Optionally, the top mold can be enclosed and pressurized to provide a pneumatic pressure assist to form the glass. In addition, the bottom mold can be enclosed to allow for vacuum assist to form the glass.

摘要: Working with the traditional soda lime float glass, there is a limit on how thin an automotive laminate can be while still meeting all of the functional and safety requirements. By using alternate glass compositions and chemical tempering, a thinner lightweight automotive laminate, which meets all requirements, and with high resistance to stone chips, has been produced.

摘要: The present invention provides for a laminate that utilizes the ability of a narrow band absorbing dyes to absorb selective wavelengths of light by identifying a color target and tuning to that target. Working with just glass compositions, coatings, interlayers and films, all of which act as broad band filters, it is difficult to fine tune the spectral response of a laminate. Narrow band absorbing dyes are used to selectively tune the spectral response to achieve targeted performance in the UV, visible and IR ranges of the spectrum.
