摘要： The present invention relates to a method for selective separation of positively charged monovalent ionic species from an ionic solution. The method comprises passing the ionic solution comprising a positively charged monovalent ion and a positively charged polyvalent ion through an electrode capacitor assembly comprising a first electrode and a second electrode, the electrodes comprising nanoporous carbon, wherein the first electrode is modified with sulfonate surface groups; and at least one flow channel for the passage of the solution. The method further comprises charging the electrode capacitor assembly (1) at a voltage of at least about 1.5 V; and/or (2) for scaled charging time of less than about 2.

摘要： Continuous insect-based biowaste processing apparatus has a tubular drum; a drive for rotatably driving the drum; a shaftless screw conveyor fixedly connected to an inner surface of the drum; circumferentially spaced cantilevered blades that (a) are connected to the inner drum surface and (b) each longitudinally extends throughout the drum; and a mechanism for introducing a conglomerate portion that includes biowaste and insect larvae into the drum interior. The screw conveyor is subdivided into longitudinally spaced chambers for the introduced insect larvae, each of the chambers being defined by two adjacent flights of the screw conveyor and by the blades. The size of the insect larvae progressively increases within a more distally located rearing chamber. Two or more blades firmly hold and unify the conglomerate portion throughout its residing time within the drum interior while being distally conveyed.

摘要： A spectrally encoded flow cytometry (SEFC) technique for imaging blood in the microcirculation. Since the dependency of one of the axes of the image on time prevents effective quantification of essential clinical parameters, the optical path in an SEFC system is split into two parallel imaging lines, followed by data analysis for recovering the flow speed from the multiplexed data. The data analysis may be auto-correlation of a pair of images obtained from a sequence of images of the imaged blood vessel.

摘要： A rotating sprinkler is configured with only three components without need of any other manufactured component. The three components are constituted by a base component connected to a water source, a rotating head component from which a water stream is emitted which is rotatably mounted on an element of the base component, and a gravitating hammer component pivotally mounted on the head component that causes intermittent rotary motion of the head component about a vertical rotation axis by intermittently engaging the emitted stream and providing in response a reaction force. The hammer component is configured to intercept the emitted water stream within an interior space between a deflecting surface and a ramping surface when downwardly pivoted and to urge the intercepted water stream to flow upwardly along the ramped surface and to impinge upon the deflecting surface, causing the hammer component to pivot upwardly prior to being gravitated.

摘要： A sealing set may be used for sealing and draining a liquid and may comprise a check valve and a mating press unit.
