摘要： An interactive wagering system is provided that promotes wagering to users at user equipment. The user equipment may be based on a set-top box and television, a personal computer, a cellular telephone with a display, or other such devices. Wagering may be promoted by notifying the user of an opportunity to place a wager on a given race. Wagering may also be promoted by providing the user with an on-screen opportunity to sign up for a wagering television channel or interactive wagering service. The on-screen promotions that are displayed to the user may be targeted based on the television programming that is being displayed or the user's interests. The user's activities may be monitored to collect information on the user's interests. If a particular race or the like is being discussed during a television program, the user may be provided with an opportunity to wager on that race.

Each channel of high speed serial interface circuitry includes receiver circuitry having two 8B10B decoders and transmitter circuitry having two 8B10B encoders. The receiver and transmitter circuitry can be configured to operate in one of three modes of operation: cascade mode, dual channel mode, and single channel mode.

摘要： A logic device logic module includes multi-stage combinational logic circuitry (e.g., a four-input look-up table) into which EXCLUSIVE OR (“XOR”) circuitry is interposed to give the logic module arithmetic as well as combinational logic capabilities. The XOR circuitry is used to help form an arithmetic sum output signal (as an alternative to a combinational logic output signal) when arithmetic mode operation is desired. The logic module is also augmented with circuitry for providing a carry out signal in arithmetic mode. The logic module can perform such arithmetic operations as one digit or bit of binary addition, subtraction, or multiplication. In all cases a carry in signal is taken into account; and in the case of multiplication, a digit from another partial product or summation of other partial products is also taken into account.

摘要： Circuitry and methods allow signal detection based entirely on differential voltage pairs. An incoming differential data signal is processed by separate full-wave rectifiers to extract high and low peak voltage envelopes. The rectifiers utilize negative feedback to ensure accurate envelope detection, and can detect peaks regardless of incoming signal polarity. The extracted envelopes are compared to a differential pair of threshold voltages. If the envelope signals have a smaller voltage difference than that of the threshold signals, the final output of the detector indicates that a loss-of-signal condition has occurred. Fully differential operation makes the detector independent of common-mode voltage, and thus more robust.
