    摘要: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for assigning power management classifications to a process, transitioning a computing environment into a connected standby state based upon power management classifications assigned to processes, and transitioning the computing environment from the connected standby state to an execution state. That is, power management classifications, such as exempt, throttle, and/or suspend, may be assigned to processes based upon various factors, such as whether a process provides desired functionality and/or whether the process provides functionality relied upon for basic operation of the computing environment. In this way, the computing environment may be transitioned into a low power connected standby state that may continue executing desired functionality, while reducing power consumption by suspending and/or throttling other functionality. Because some functionality may still execute, the computing environment may transition into the execution state in a responsive manner to quickly provide a user with up-to-date information.

    摘要: Two-phase filtering for a firewall is disclosed. In the first, general phase, a request is filtered to verify one or more of: that the request is pursuant to a supported protocol, that a command of the request is allowed, that the length of the request does not exceed the allowed maximum for the command, and that characters of the request are of an allowable type. Upon first-phase verification, a second phase is invoked that is particular to the protocol of the request. In the second, specialized phase, the request is filtered to verify one or more of the source, the destination, and the content of the request. Upon second-phase verification, the request is allowed to pass. If either first- or second-phase verification fails, then the request is denied.

    摘要: A multimedia testing system is described herein that uses a virtual hardware driver to test software application behavior using virtual hardware in place of physical hardware devices. The virtual hardware driver receives customized input patterns that emulate behavior and formatting of data from a wide variety of hardware devices. For webcams, the system can send a steady stream of frames like those that would be provided as output from a physical webcam. A test environment can observe software interaction with the received customized input patterns to determine how the software will interact with various physical hardware devices. Thus, the multimedia testing system allows automated testing of a software application that interacts with multimedia hardware without physically buying and installing hardware devices.

The images may be captured using a device suitable for capturing images, like a camera phone. Once available, the images may be processed to improve their suitability for document generation.     摘要: Systems, methods, and technologies for configuring a conventional smart card and a client machine, and for performing a smart card authorization using the configured smart card and client. Further, the combination of methods provides for mutual authentication—authentication of the client to the user, and authentication of the user to the client. The authentication methods include presenting a specified token to the user sufficient to authenticate the client to the user and thus protect the user-provided PIN. Security is strengthened by using an integrity key based on approved client system configurations. Security is further strengthened by calculating a PIN′ value based on a user-specified PIN and a modifier and using the PIN′ value for unlocking the smart card.

    摘要: Various technologies and techniques are described for providing a transaction grouping feature for use in programs operating under a transactional memory system. The transaction grouping feature is operable to allow transaction groups to be created that contain related transactions. The transaction groups are used to enhance performance and/or operation of the programs. Different locking and versioning mechanisms can be used with different transaction groups. When running transactions, a hardware transactional memory execution mechanism can be used for one transaction group while a software transactional memory execution mechanism used for another transaction group.
