    Abstract: A refrigerator shelf includes a plate, a frame, and a support arm. The plate is configured to support items disposed within a refrigerator. The frame supports the plate and has a brace extending downward from a bottom surface of the frame. The brace has an edge. The support arm has a flange extending laterally along an upper region of the support arm. The support arm has a tab extending upward from an end of the flange. The frame is coupled to the support arm via the brace engaging an upper surface of the flange and via the tab engaging the edge of the brace. The support arm is configured to engage the refrigerator to position the shelf within the refrigerator.

    Abstract: A refrigerating appliance includes a lighting system having a lighting device arranged to operatively illuminate the interior of the refrigerating appliance based on a predetermined condition. The lighting device includes a light source and an electrochromic device. The light source is arranged to selectively provide a first light to the electrochromic device. The electrochromic device is selectively operable to emit a second light within the interior. The color, color temperature, and diffusion of the second light can be indicative of a status of the refrigerating appliance and can be selectable by a user.

    Abstract: A digital finger for testing a touchscreen of an appliance using a testing robot is provided. A control circuit receives, from a load cell, first signals indicative of pressure applied by a finger holder simulating interaction with the touchscreen, the load cell being held by a load cell housing defining a channel for receiving the finger holder, such that when the finger holder is pressed onto the touchscreen, the finger holder moves to increase pressure against the load cell. The control circuit receives, from the appliance, second signals indicative of recognition of a touch to the touchscreen. The control circuit determines, response time of the touchscreen and/or the pressure required to operate the touchscreen based on the first and second signals.

    Abstract: A vacuum insulated refrigerator includes a cabinet defining a refrigerator compartment. The cabinet includes a liner, a wrapper, and a trim breaker assembly coupled to the liner and the wrapper. The trim breaker assembly extends along a perimeter of the refrigerator compartment and includes a mullion region. At least one foam gasket is coupled to at least one surface of the trim breaker assembly and is routed from a first end of the mullion region, along a portion of the perimeter of the refrigerator compartment, and to a second end of the mullion region. The at least one surface of the trim breaker assembly is at least one of an outer surface, a side surface, and an inner surface. At least one engagement member is coupled to the trim breaker assembly to define a seal by compressing the at least one foam gasket therebetween.

    Abstract: A refrigeration unit includes a cabinet with a refrigerator compartment, a freezer compartment, and a machine compartment. The cabinet includes a mullion region between the refrigerator compartment and the freezer compartment, a first pass-through therethrough providing access from an external environment to the refrigerator compartment, and a second pass-through therethrough providing access from the external environment to the freezer compartment. The cabinet further includes a third pass-through extending through the mullion region, and a refrigerant system. The refrigerant system includes a three-way valve configured to direct a refrigerant down a first flow path or a second flow path, the refrigerant in the first flow path flows through the first pass-through, a first evaporator, the third pass-through, and the second evaporator, and the refrigerant in the second flow path flows through the second pass-through and the second evaporator.
