摘要: A helipad fire suppression system includes a helipad having an outer boundary that defines an impervious deck area for at least one of landing or storing one or more helicopters, with at least a portion of the impervious deck area being designated a fire suppression target area. The system includes a nozzle assembly having a spray-type nozzle for spraying a fire suppression fluid in a radial pattern. The nozzle assembly can include a nozzle enclosure for enclosing the spray-type nozzle and can be configured for installation in a surface made of an impervious material. The nozzle assembly is disposed in an interior portion of the impervious deck area so as to provide the fire suppression fluid to the fire suppression target area.

摘要: Automatic fire protection sprinkler assemblies having a trigger assembly with a thermally responsive element and a yoke that seats and facilitates heat flow over the thermally responsive element. The yoke includes an elongate support member with a central region centered between two end portions with linear portions extending between the central region and the end portions. The yoke defines a heat impact region in which the end of the trigger assembly is received and seated. The yoke also provides a lateral access to define a fluid flow path in fluid communication with the heat impact region to facilitate heat flow over the thermally responsive element.

摘要: A dry fire protection sprinkler assembly. The sprinkler assembly includes an elongate tubular outer housing having a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The second end of the housing defines a fluid discharge end of the sprinkler assembly having an outlet opening. A fluid deflection member is affixed to the housing at a preferably fixed distance from the outlet opening. The sprinkler assembly and the fluid deflection member define an unencumbered fluid flow path for a column of fluid discharge from the outlet opening. The fluid deflection member includes at least one tab to act on the unencumbered column of fluid discharge.

摘要: A method and device for protecting and installing a fire protection sprinkler. The method includes torquing the sprinkler with a protective device strapped about the sprinkler and pulling a releasing segment of the device to expose operational components of the installed sprinkler. The protective device includes a first and second member having a hinged connection about which the members pivot with respect to one another between an open configuration and a closed configuration. At least one of the members includes a torque assist portion for applying the torque to the sprinkler and a releasing segment spaced laterally from the hinge connection to pivot the members from the closed configuration to the open configuration and release the protective device from the sprinkler.

摘要: Temporary devices and methods for providing a protected installed fire protection sprinkler assembly in an area, building, occupancy or worksite under construction and/or renovation. A protective device is embodied as a cap to house and protect the installed sprinkler assembly within an internal chamber. The protective cap includes a receiver end that forms a gription surface engagement with a peripheral surface of the sprinkler assembly. The cap provides an aerosol shield having peripheral shielded openings sufficient for heated gas to enter the internal chamber to thermally actuate the housed sprinkler assembly in the event of a fire; and yet limit the flow of aerosol paint spray and other debris into the chamber during construction or renovation activities that could damage or adversely impact sprinkler performance. The protective cap is displaced from the sprinkler assembly upon sprinkler actuation to permit the sprinkler to operate and distribute firefighting fluid without interference.
