    摘要: Systems and methods for speaker assemblies with wide dispersion patterns are disclosed. In one embodiment, a speaker assembly includes at least two speaker drivers and a diffraction baffle affixed to each speaker driver, where each diffraction baffle includes a baffle face having a diffraction slot positioned over the driver and each diffraction baffle is affixed to and sealed to the driver, the area across each diffraction slot is less than the surface area of the driver, each diffraction slot provides a path for substantially all of the acoustic pressure waves produced by the speaker driver to propagate away from the driver and the acoustic pressure waves are within a frequency range determined by the characteristics of the driver, and the width of each diffraction slot in the horizontal direction is equal to the wavelength of a predetermined target frequency.

    摘要: Instrument amplification systems incorporating reflection cancelling boundary microphones and multiband compression in accordance with embodiments of the invention are disclosed. In one embodiment, an amplification system includes a microphone configured to generate an audio signal based upon acoustic waves within the instrument including audio content within a low frequency band including a fundamental resonant frequency of the instrument, a middle frequency band including at least one harmonic frequency of the instrument, and an upper frequency band, where the frequency response characteristics of acoustic waves generated within the instrument in the low frequency band differ from the characteristics of acoustic waves generated outside of the instrument, and an electronic preamplifier system configured to provide the audio content within the low frequency band to a low frequency band amplification circuit that applies compression to provide audio content having frequency characteristics corresponding to the characteristics of acoustic waves generated outside of the instrument.

    摘要: Systems and methods for creating a digital audio filter, such as an impulse response filter, using a pickup audio signal provided to an instrument signal capture device and a microphone signal provided to a mobile device are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes capturing a first audio signal using a signal capture device, performing frequency analysis on the digitized first audio signal to generate a frequency response spectrum representation, transmitting the frequency response spectrum representation of the first audio signal from the signal capture device to a mobile device, capturing a second audio signal using a microphone on the mobile device, performing frequency analysis on the at least one digitized second audio signal using the mobile device to generate a frequency response spectrum representation, and generating a digital audio filter from the frequency response spectrum representations of the first audio signal and the second audio signal.

    摘要: Reflection cancelling boundary microphones are described in which a microphone capsule is mounted within the pressure zone of a vibrating surface and the microphone is tuned in such a way as to cancel pressure waves reflected by the surface while admitting pressure waves generated by the vibration of the surface. One embodiment of the invention includes a microphone capsule configured to be mounted within the pressure zone of a vibrating surface. In addition, the microphone is tuned to cancel pressure waves reflected by the surface while admitting pressure waves generated by the vibration of the surface.
