摘要: This application relates to ventilation systems, more particularly to roof ventilation systems that help to protect buildings against fires. The roof vent has an ember impedance structure that impedes the entry of flames and embers or other floating burning materials while still permitting sufficient air flow to adequately ventilate a building. Several configurations of vents employing baffle members and fire-resistant mesh material are described, which can substantially prevent the ingress of floating embers and flames.

摘要: Systems and methods for storing post-climacteric fruit are described. The system is scalable for home or commercial use and extends the storage life of fruit sensitive to over-ripening and spoilage because of the emission of ethylene gas. The described systems circulate and remove the ethylene gas, emitted by the fruit, from within an enclosure containing the fruit. Also, the system may store the fruit at an average temperature that extends the storage life of the fruit. The systems accomplish these objectives by thermally cycling the temperature of the air/gas within the enclosure containing the fruit about a desired storage temperature. The change in temperature may cause the air to expand and contract. Mechanisms allow the expanding and contracting air to exchange the gas within the enclosure with the air outside the enclosure, inducing the flushing of the ethylene gas.

摘要: A humidor heat exchanger system and method for using thereof to control temperature and relative humidity are disclosed. The humidor heat exchanger system comprises two or more processors coupled to one or more memories, one or more communication interfaces, one or more thermoelectric modules, one or more compressors, one or more heaters, two or more LEDs, one or more fans, one or more sensors, one or more displays, one or more water collectors, one or more doors, one or more water reservoirs, and one or more evaporators. The two or more processors are communicatively connected to the one or more thermoelectric modules, one or more compressors, one or more heaters, two or more LEDs, one or more fans, one or more sensors, one or more displays, one or more water collectors, one or more doors, and one or more water reservoirs, and one or more evaporators. The two or more processors of the humidor heat exchanger system are configured to control temperature and relative humidity of a humidor by: detecting temperature in the one or more thermoelectric modules; detecting temperature in the one or more evaporators; checking temperature difference between the one or more thermoelectric modules and the one or more evaporators; calculating average temperature value in the one or more thermoelectric modules as to not force the one or more compressors to operate outside a safety region and not be powered on before the necessary period of time to balance cooling circuit pressure; activating the one or more compressors depending on the temperature difference between the one or more thermoelectric modules and the one or more evaporators; dynamically adjusting temperature control parameters as a function of adjusted temperature variation conditions; initiating relative humidity control; checking output of the one or more thermoelectric modules; adjusting power output of the one or more thermoelectric modules to attain desired relative humidity value; and stabilizing relative humidity exactly to the value adjustment made without oscillating about 1%.

摘要: An humidification apparatus establishes geometric properties for humidity loss from a structure relative to inside and outside temperatures and historic performance of that building structure. The humidification apparatus also stores data establishing acceptable relative humidity ranges for the internal and external ambient temperature conditions to which the building structure is exposed. The humidification apparatus obtains weather forecast data for the geographic location of the building. A user inputs a desired level of relative humidity. The humidification apparatus controller then adjusts humidity inside the building according to that input and according to the permissible humidity range for the building in the prevailing external temperature conditions and the weather forecast data.

摘要: A disclosed fan system includes a housing having side walls, an inflow side, and an outflow side; a fan secured in the housing by a mounting; and a backflow blocker mounted to the side walls within the housing on the outflow side of the housing partially blocking a cross-sectional area of the outflow side. The backflow blocker is positioned approximately centrally in a flow path of the housing and is configured to block part of an airflow cross section such that, between side walls of the housing and side walls of the backflow blocker, an annular duct is formed as an air passage. Further, the backflow blocker has a thickness that is greater than 5% of a width of the housing, and is less than 20% of an axial design height of the fan system.
