    摘要: An ejecting mechanism for an ammunition body is operated by pressurized gas from a high pressure bottle for pressurizing a double piston, which controls two ejectors through a hydraulic valve system. The pressurized gas is heated by a heater surrounding the high pressure bottle to keep the bottle and its content at a temperature that corresponds approximately to the highest outer temperature under which the ejector mechanism is expected to operate. Thus, the pressurized gas has the same energy content at all expected external operating temperatures. After an ammunition body has been ejected, the ejector pistons are pushed back again under an electrical control signal from a control which controls the valve system, whereby the hydraulic oil is pressed back into a hydraulic reservoir. The ejector pistons are of the stepped type to facilitate the intended operation. A high pressure pump pumps the hydraulic oil back into the double piston cylinder device, whereby the respective double piston drives the working or driving gas back into the high pressure bottle, thereby reactivating the system for the next ejection.

    摘要: An ejector arrangement for aircraft store racks that are carried by military type aircraft and the like for releasably attaching to the aircraft stores such as conventional or nuclear weapons, in which the ejector arrangement is duplicated in mirror image form at the usual fore and aft positions of the rack, with each ejector arrangement being in the form of an elongated housing with which the usual fore and aft sway braces are respectively integral, which ejector housing internally defines an elongate internal chamber in which are mounted an outer cylinder and inner cylinder that in the dormant relation of the ejector are in substantially telescoped coaxial relation with like ends of same disposed adjacent one end of the housing to which the rack ballistic gas is supplied, with the ejector cylinders at their other ends being exposed externally of the other end of the housing and keyed for sequential movement to their extended relations under the action of the ballistic gas involved, to thrust the store which at the same time has been released from the aircraft, beyond the aircraft's air stream envelope; the inner and outer cylinders of the rack ejectors, in moving from the ejector dormant relation to the ejector extended relation, act under the ballistic gas pressure released within the respective rack ejectors, to apply to the store the needed unbalanced force, and in a more or less uniform, sequential manner, to effect application to the store of maximized release thrust during the thrust stroke of the rack ejectors.

    摘要: A swaybrace system includes one or more pairs of opposing swaybrace arms that pivot in relation to aircraft structure, each arm with a pad thereon automatically being biased by a spring-loaded wedge or the like to cause the pad to contact with the store under all load conditions. Each arm in one embodiment is bifurcated into upper and lower portions capable of flexing, the store-contacting pad being attached to the lower portion, with the lower portion flexing with respect to the upper portion through a predetermined distance Sa for pad loads between zero and a predetermined pre-load. The upper portion, together with the lower portion and pad, flexes about the wedge through a predetermined distance Sb for pad loads between the predetermined pre-load and a predetermined maximum load. An alternate embodiment utilizes resilient means between the pad and arm to allow the pad to move through the predetermined distance Sa with respect to the arm, the arm together with the pad flexing about the wedge through the predetermined distance Sb, all under corresponding load conditions. Distance Sa equals distance SB in each embodiment. Each embodiment automatically loads itself to obtain adequate but not excessive store pre-loads at each pad, to properly restrain the store but limit maximum hook loads.

    摘要: An ejector rack that is attachable to an aircraft and is for supporting and selectively releasing and/or ejecting a store that is carried internal of the aircraft, i.e., in a bomb bay. The store can be released from the ejector rack, and from the aircraft, in either of two ways, namely: by pushing on a manually operated release handle; or, by forced ejection, the only way used during flight of the aircraft. Forced ejection is achieved by sending an electrical impulse to either or both of two cartridges in the breech of the ejector rack, igniting the cartridge(s). Gas is generated thereby; and, the resultant pressure that is built up in a gas system in the rack provides force that acts upon an unlocking piston, causing the piston to move out of its "locked" position. In turn, the moving piston provides a force on a slide, rotating a latch that allows the main linkage bellcrank to rotate and thus to open two hooks which are holding the store, thereby releasing the suspended store. Concurrently, gas pressure is manifolded to two sway brace ejection piston cylinders, and the ejection pistons therein are forcefully extended, causing positive and forcible ejection of the store by the ejection pistons. Unlike prior art devices, this ejector rack incorporates: a fully automatic sway brace system; a counterbalance assembly with a counterweight that prevents vibration loads from causing the inadvertent release of the store from the rack; and, a safety lock that automatically closes and also latches the hook linkage when the lock is moved to the locked position.

    摘要: This invention is concerned with an ejector release unit for releasing and projecting a store from an aircraft. The unit comprises a pair of telescopic ejection guns for projecting the store from the aircraft and a releasable latching mechanism for supporting the store, having an inner pair of pivoted hooks located between the ejection guns which are swung from their operative positions by means of links controlled by a central toggle mechanism, and an outer pair of hooks located outside the ejection guns, each of the hooks being held in its operative position by a separate toggle linkage which is released by means of a link controlled from the central toggle linkage, which is so located in a lateral direction as to pass to one side of the respective ejection gun. Each of the separate toggle linkages are preferably braced in a position just past dead-centre and is released by turning one of the links through the dead-centre position by means of a short connecting arm fixed to the link in question and acted on by the link controlled from the central toggle linkage.
