摘要: A self-declaring electronic license plate (e-plate) system for a vehicle is disclosed. This self-declaring e-plate system includes: an input device; a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader coupled to the input device; and an RFID-enabled license plate. In some embodiments, the input device is configured to receive vehicle occupancy information and triggers the RFID reader to write the received vehicle occupancy information to the RFID-enabled license plate in response to receiving the vehicle occupancy information. The RFID reader is configured to write at least a portion of the received vehicle occupancy information to the RFID-enabled license plate. The RFID-enabled license plate is configured to provide at least a portion of the received vehicle occupancy information to an electronic toll collection (ETC) reader. In some embodiments, the received vehicle occupancy information includes a current number of occupants self-declared by a user, such as a driver or a passenger inside the vehicle.

摘要: Provided is an electronic key system for a vehicle. The electronic key system for a vehicle includes an in-vehicle device and a portable device and performs a predetermined control process on a vehicle on the basis of verification successfully made between the in-vehicle device and the portable device. When receiving a verification signal, the portable device transmits a response signal in accordance with the verification signal. When an operation detection unit detects a user operation, the portable device transmits an instruction signal for controlling a state of locking of a door of the vehicle. An output level of the response signal from the portable device is lower than an output level of the instruction signal.

摘要: A method of operating an activity recognition system includes capturing ambient radio frequency (RF) data by an RF sniffer. The ambient RF data is then received by a processor. The processor reduces noise content of the ambient RF data. Background is then subtracted from the ambient RF data by the processor. The processed ambient RF data is then converted into an image by the processor. The system generates successive images for each one of a plurality of time intervals. An image processing algorithm, stored in a storage medium and executed by the processor, is applied to the plurality of successive images to determine activity recognition.

摘要: A vehicle rear door indicator system. The system includes a contact switch disposed along a rear door of a vehicle. Opening the rear door of the vehicle opens an electrical circuit. The electrical circuit is operably connected to a display. When the electrical circuit is opened the display can show the status of the rear door of the vehicle. A motion sensor is disposed along a desired surface of the vehicle such that the motion sensor can detect when the rear door is in motion. The motion sensor is connected to the display. When the motion sensor detects movement of the rear door the display can alert a user via a movement indicator on the display. The vehicle rear door indicator system can be used to alert a user when the rear door of a vehicle is open, closed, or in motion.

摘要: An apparatus, system, and method for controlling functions of a vehicular alarm. The method includes receiving one or more signals including location information, determining a location of the vehicle using the location information, setting one or more functions based on the location information, determining whether an alarm function is activated, and activating the one or more functions according to the setting upon determining that an alarm has been activated. The method may further include using GPS data or signals transmitted from one or more base stations (e.g., from cellular telephone base stations, computer networks, proprietary transmitters, etc.) to determine the position of the apparatus (e.g., installed in the vehicle). The apparatus may also inform a user of regulations relating to an area dependent upon its location.

摘要: This invention relates to security systems. Previously, vehicle vandals and thieves were difficult to stop. Embodiments of the present invention use a vehicle security system (100) includes at least two image capture devices (ICD), sensors, a global positioning system tracking module (GPSTM), a control module (CM), and a monitoring device. The ICD are positioned at predetermined locations of the vehicle for capturing and transmitting images of a target object. The CM receives the captured images and sensor data variables. The CM analyzes the received images and sensor data variables based on predefined criteria to trigger auxiliary units. The CM transmits the images and sensor data variables based on the predefined criteria to the monitoring device. A graphical user interface displays the images for monitoring the vehicle and notifies the user.
