摘要： A locking mechanism for reclining chairs normally preventing recline of the chair and operated by or upon the extension of the footrest to permit the chair to recline, and upon recline, to lock the footrest against retraction. When the chair is shifted back to sitting position the footrest is again retractable, and when retracted, again prevents recline of the chair. Installed in a rocker-recliner, the mechanism also normally prevents recline, and when operated as above stated to permit recline, simultaneously locks the chair against rocking. Both recline and rocking locks utilize paired links alignable alternatively to prevent or permit relative movement of their associated parts. Also, recline of the chair, while locking the footrest against independent retraction, effects a slight related retraction thereof to prevent downward pull upon the occupant''s outstretched legs upon recline.

摘要： A rocker box assembly for attachment to the bottom of a chair to form a platform rocker or the like. The rocker box has swivel connection with the floor legs so that the user of the chair may not only rock but also swing about the legs. The improvement comprises an assembly formed mostly of steel stampings to facilitate quantity production. The interengaging rocker components are rigidly secured to superposed steel plates, and side plates are provided to insure proper alignment of the rocker components, and to prevent undesirable matter from being inserted between the rocker surfaces. A novel coil spring assembly maintains the rocker components in cooperating relationship and safety means are provided to insure against bodily harm in the event of failure of the coil spring assembly.

摘要： This is a swivel rocker base for a rocking chair. A rocker base frame is swivel mounted on a swivel base frame. A rocking trunnion comprising a steel rod is welded in horizontal position on the upper edge of a vertical plate which is mounted in diametral position on the rocker base frame. A rocker frame has a semicylindrical saddle bearing overlying the full length of the trunnion rod to support the chair. A nylon cushion is interposed as a bushing between the trunnion rod and saddle bearing. Four upstanding bolts on the rocker base frame extend upward through openings in the rocker frame, two of these bolts being on the front side of the trunnion rod and two on the rear side. Each bolt carries a coil spring compressed between a lower spring seat on the rocker frame and an upper spring seat on the upper end of the bolt whereby the springs are readily replaceable in case of breakage.

A manually operated control mechanism has a first position tightening the line thereby providing a driving connection between the drive means and the rocking chair member. 摘要： A rocker-recliner chair having a base, a rocking frame mounted on the base for rocking movement; a seat frame with linkage suspending it from the rocking frame for movement between a lower position and a forwardly raised position; a backrest with linkage connected to the seat frame to pivot relative thereto between a normal upright position and inclined reclined positions, the backrest linkage also serving to actuate the seat frame linkage to swing the seat frame upwardly and forwardly when the backrest is moved into reclining positions, and a footrest with linkage mounting it to the seat frame to be operable by a handle, between a retracted position and a single extended position. A locking linkage is provided between the footrest linkage, seat frame and rocking frame for preventing reclining movement when the footrest is retracted and also for preventing return of the footrest to retracted position when the backrest is in reclining position. A lock mechanism is also provided at the front of the chair for preventing rocking when the footrest is extended. The locking mechanism is connected to the footrest linkage to be operated thereby upon extension and retraction of the footrest.

摘要： An air chamber including a resilient boot is provided between the base and seat portion of a vehicle seat. A post projects downwardly from the seat portion inside the boot and is guided for vertical movement by rollers mounted on means fixed with respect to the base.
