摘要： An insulated electric conductor having a copper core, a layer of aluminum formed on the copper core, and a second layer of aluminum in the form of high-purity aluminum is disclosed. The copper core may be a solid core or may be formed from a plurality of copper strands. The layer of aluminum formed over the copper core is at least partially anodized to form an aluminum oxide dielectric layer. The layer of high-purity aluminum may be formed by evaporation deposition, sputter deposition, or co-extrusion. Once the layer of high-purity aluminum is formed, it is anodized. More than two layers of aluminum may be formed over the copper core.

摘要： A transformer assembly is provided that includes a housing, transformer oil disposed within the housing, a plurality of coils of electrically conductive wire, and aliphatic polyamide insulation material operable to insulate the coils disposed within the oil. The plurality of electrically conductive coils is disposed in the housing and in contact with the transformer oil. The aliphatic polyamide insulation material includes stabilizing compounds and nano-fillers. The stabilizing compounds provide thermal and chemical stability for the insulation material.

摘要： A system and a process for continuously electrolytically coating a wire, useful for a high tension cable, is provided. The system includes a bath containing a precursor for an electro-ceramic coating on a wire and containing a cathodic connection, at least one motor connected to at least one motive assembly to impart movement to the wire. A power source provides high voltage and high current to the wire through the electrification device, and through the wire in the bath to the cathode connection via the aqueous electrolytic solution. The process includes electrifying bare wire with a high voltage and a high current, passing the electrified bare wire through a bath having a cathodic connection and containing an aqueous solution with a precursor for an electro-ceramic coating, and electrochemically reacting the wire with the precursor thereby generating a coated wire having an electro-ceramic coating on at least one surface.

摘要： A cable for power distribution applications includes a plurality of wires bundled into the cable. The plurality of wires typically is comprised of interior wires and peripheral wires with the peripheral wires surrounding the interior wires. At least one wire is coated with a high emissivity coating that includes at least 10 weight percent aluminum oxide and a metal oxide other than aluminum oxide. Characteristically, the wire coated with the high emissivity coating has an emissivity greater than about 0.5 in the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum and a surface area at least 50 times greater than the surface area of a bare wire prior to being coated with the high emissivity coating.

摘要： An insulated wire, having a thermosetting resin layer, directly or by interposing an insulated layer, on a conductor having a rectangular cross-section, and a thermoplastic resin layer on the thermosetting resin layer, wherein the insulated wire contains a liquid component that is liquid at 25° C., and has a boiling point of 150° C. or higher in a proportion of 1,000 ppm or more and 20,000 ppm or less in the thermosetting resin layer; a coil formed by winding processing the insulated wire; and electrical/electronic equipment having the coil; and a method of preventing cracking of an insulated wire, wherein cracking caused in a thermoplastic resin layer as a covering resin layer is prevented from reaching the thermosetting resin layer by using the insulated wire which contains the liquid component in the proportion of 1,000 ppm or more and 20,000 ppm or less in the thermosetting resin layer.

摘要： A insulated conducting wire (ICW) comprising: a metal microwire and an inorganic cladding; wherein the microwire is positioned within the cladding; wherein the outer diameter of the microwire is less then the inner diameter of the cladding, such that there is a gap between the microwire and the cladding. A process of making a wire, comprising the steps of: drawing an inorganic tube through a heating zone such that the inner diameter of the tube is reduced; inserting a microwire into the tube whereby the tube becomes a cladding; and adjusting the draw process parameters such that the inner diameter of the cladding becomes larger than the outer diameter of the microwire.
