    摘要: Coupling devices have a housing comprised of first and second housing parts together forming an interior cavity which houses a rotatable coupler, preferably comprised of first and second coupler segments, the device being coupled or not depending upon the coupler's position within the cavity. Each housing part has one or more concave cavity wall portion(s) for rotatably retaining the coupler or a coupler segment in the cavity or in a housing part cavity portion. The coupler or each segment has one or more convex outer surface wall portion(s). The concave cavity wall portion(s) slip fit engage the coupler or coupler segment convex surface wall portions and rotatably retain the coupler or segment(s) within the housing cavity or housing part cavity portion. The housing parts are uncoupled and partable when the coupler is in a first position which allows their mating and parting, and they are coupled and not partable when the coupler or segments is or are in a second position wherein one or more of its or their convex surface wall portions is or are slip fit engaged by the coupler retaining concave cavity wall portion(s) of each of the first and second housing parts. The housing parts and coupler segments respectively have and are mated along mating/parting lines, which preferably have substantially the same configuration. The housing parts are uncoupled and partable when the mating/parting lines positionally substantially correspond and are coupled when the mating/parting lines do not. Methods of coupling are included.

    摘要: A translation element, a so-called driving dog or transmitter, for translating the rotation of the center of gravity of an excentrically mounted excentric gear wheel (9) to a first shaft (14) when said wheel simultaneously executes a planetary movement about a second shaft. A rigid body (10,25) which is pivotably mounted about first pins (11, 12) has axially directed, tooth-like projections (26, 27) fitting with negligible play into two radially counter-directed apertures (22, 23) in said wheel (9) for permittinhg said projections to execute a radial reciprocally gliding motion in the apertures, simultaneously as they execute a rolling motion in said apertures, while the rigid body pivots about the first pins. A sleeve (245) is used to translate the rotation of a first shaft to a second shaft, said shafts not needing to be coaxial, parallel or needing to have a constant mutual, axial spacing, said sleeve co-acting with pins and projections which are in force-transmitting communication with each other and are arranged on the sleeve and on either of the shafts.

    摘要: A flexible coupling for use in a down-hole motor assembly such as a positive displacement moineau motor is presented. The flexible coupling includes two sets of flexible joints. Each joint consists of two cylindrically shaped slipper couplings angularly offset by 90 degrees. Each slipper coupling is comprised of mating male and female members which are joined together by ball bearings positioned in arcuate grooves located along the cylindrical mating surface.

    摘要: A universal joint includes a first member and a second member joined via a coupling assembly. The coupling assembly includes a pair of washer-like seats engageable with ball studs carried by the pair of members and a nut and bolt assembly. The nut and bolt assembly cooperates with one of the washer-like elements to define a stop and the one washer-like elements defines a stop with at least one of the ball studs and/or one of the members to permit easy assembly of the universal joint and smaller members.
