摘要： A mattress edge sewing machine including a frame with a drive shaft rotatably mounted therein and having a material supporting surface, a sewing station defined by a needle bar mounted in the frame for generally vertical reciprocatory movements along a fixed centerline and a feed mechanism for pulling materials along a generally horizontal direction thereby facilitating advancement of multiple mattress material plies through the sewing station of the machine. The feed mechanism includes upper and lower positively driven feed rollers which are continually biased into operable engagement with each other. The feed rollers are arranged in the line of feed of the material and within a range of about 0.4 inch to about 1.0 inch rearwardly of the needle bar centerline whereby facilitating advancement of material through a sewing station on the machine and especially around four corners of a mattress being sewn. The needle bar is moved in timed relation relative to the movements of the looper, and with the needle bar traversing a distance in a single vertical direction at a ratio greater than 2:1 relative to the distance in a single lateral direction traversed by the looper.

摘要： A portable carpet binding machine comprising a housing defining an interior region, a drive mechanism supported by the housing and at least partially disposed in the interior region, a prime mover operatively coupled to the drive mechanism for providing motive power to the drive mechanism, a sewing assembly driven via the drive mechanism for sewing a strip of material to a piece of carpet. The portable carpet binding machine includes a carpet feeding assembly including a feed driver mechanism and a coacting puller mechanism operating in substantially synchronous movement to linearly feed the piece of carpet relative to the sewing assembly. The feed driver mechanism includes a feed-dog driven via the drive mechanism that intermittently engages the bottom of the piece of carpet to thereby advance the piece of carpet forward. The coacting puller mechanism includes first and second feed rollers driven via the drive mechanism. The first feed roller engages the top of the piece of carpet and the second feed roller engages the bottom of the piece of carpet. The first and second feed rollers pull the piece of carpet forward substantially simultaneously with respect to the advancement by the feed-dog of the feed driver mechanism.

摘要： An apparatus in combination with a sewing machine having a stitch-former that utilizes thread, alternately engageable and disengageable with a garment having portions of different thickness material, and a feeder for feeding the garment through the stitch-former when the stitch-former is disengaged from the garment, comprises a puller roller, a feed rocker shaft, first and second presser feet and first and second pneumatic cylinders. The puller roller is positioned downstream of the feeder for uniformly pulling the garment when the stitch-former is disengaged from the garment. The feed rocker shaft is clampingly-attached to the feeder for driving the puller roller in synchronization with the stitch-former. The feed rocker shaft intermittently engages the puller roller when the stitch-former is disengaged from the garment and intermittently disengages the puller roller when the stitch-former is engaged with the garment. The first and second presser feet are positioned adjacent the puller roller for urging the garment against the puller roller. The first and second pneumatic cylinders are operatively connected to the first and second presser feet, respectively, for selectively and independently moving the first and second presser feet into and out of engagement with the portions of different thickness material of the garment.

摘要： A puller device of a sewing machine having a stitch-forming mechanism alternately engageable and disengageable with a garment for stitching the garment and a feed mechanism for feeding the garment through the stitch-forming mechanism. The puller device comprises a puller roller downstream of the feed mechanism for uniformly pulling the garment when the stitch-forming mechanism is disengaged from the garment. The puller device also comprises a feed rocker shaft, clampingly-attached to the feed mechanism, for driving the puller roller in synchronization with the stitch-forming mechanism, intermittently engaging the puller roller when the stitch-forming mechanism is disengaged from the garment and intermittently disengaging the puller roller when the stitch-forming mechanism is engaged with the garment. The puller device includes first and second presser feet positioned adjacent the puller roller for urging the garment against the puller roller. First and second pneumatic cylinders are operatively connected to the first and second presser feet, respectively, for selectively and independently moving the first and second presser feet into and out of engagement with different thicknesses of the garment.

摘要： A sewing machine capable of producing embroidery stitches on a workpiece which in general require the workpiece to be shifted relative to a needle in a lateral direction as well as a longitudinal direction. The sewing machine has first and second vertical extending presser bars provided at their lower ends with press rollers. The presser bars are spring-biased downwardly so that the press rollers exert downwardly directing pressure onto the workpiece. First and second feed rollers are arranged within a workpiece supporting table of the sewing machine, in opposition to the press rollers respectively. The first feed rollers are rotated by a first drive motor to feed the workpiece in the lateral direction, whereas the second feed rollers are rotated by a first drive motor to feed the workpiece in the longitudinal direction, thereby feeding the workpiece in any direction in a desired amount. The workpiece feeding amounts in both directions are separately controlled in response to stitch control data stored for the selected stitch pattern. Sequential control for each stitch will produce desired embroidery stitches.
