    摘要: The milling of work pieces having at least one bore in the surface to be milled by roller action, is performed by controlling the size of the force applied to the work piece surface in accordance with the rotation of the work piece and in accordance with the location of the bore. The control is such that the rolling force or pressure applied when the roller contacts the bore is smaller than the rolling force or pressure when the roller contacts the work piece surface outside the bore. The rolling force may even be applied in a pulsating manner in the zone of a bore. A minimum of the applied rolling force is reached at the latest when the roller passes over the bore diameter. In this manner undesirable deformations of the work piece surface, especially in a ring zone around the bore, are avoided.

    摘要: Round bar straightener-polisher machine of the type which has a pair of rotary rollers the lower of which is fixed while the upper of which moves at will in a vertical direction so as to determine the distance between the rollers, which distance will be occupied by the bar to be treated. On each side of the bar are corresponding lateral guides, also movable at will according to the gage of the bar, in order to avoid horizontal movement thereof. The movement of the upper roller and that of the lateral guides is controlled by a single control, for which two symetrically arranged tables which solidly support the corresponding lateral guides, turn with the center in its lower part, this turning being caused by movement of the frame of the upper roller, which transmits its movement to two yokes, one for each table and guide, each yoke being linked to a lever solidly connected to a horizontal shaft, which has respective heel-pieces or projections at its opposite ends, articulately coupled to corresponding lugs, fixed to each table. At the anterior end of one of the guides and at the posterior end of the other guide, successive small rollers, whose active areas are always in the same plane as the edges facing the lateral guides, are provided.

    摘要: A crankshaft blank, having a cylindrical surface to be rolled and at opposite axial ends of which there are crankshaft fillets, is held between two lever arms under pressure. The lever arms are associated with a pair of master crankshafts in such a manner that, when the master crankshafts are rotated, the lever arms move correspondingly and in unison therewith. A tool unit is provided on one of the arms and includes a tool roller having axially arrayed portions of mutually opposite conicity, or two separate rollers which are conical in mutually opposite direction. The single roll or the two rollers engage the cylindrical surface of the blank intermediate the crankshaft fillets having at their respective axial end faces radii of curvature merging into their circumferential surfaces; these radii of curvature are smaller by between substantially 20-30 percent than the radius of the crankshaft fillets on the blank and thus also of the crankshaft fillets on the master crankshaft which are identical with the crankshaft fillets on the blank.
