Abstract:
A printer with a chassis, a hinge and a paper cover assembly. The chassis may have a printing head and a notch. The hinge may have an axis, and may be coupled with the chassis such that the rotational axis of the hinge is laterally movable. The paper cover assembly may be coupled with the hinge, and may be rotatable about the hinge. The paper cover assembly may have a roller and a handle. The roller may have an axis, and when the paper cover assembly is closed, the axis of the roller may be within the notch. The handle may be configured to move a cam mechanism, and when the paper cover assembly is closed and the mechanism is moved, the mechanism may act against the chassis causing the axis of the hinge to laterally move, thereby causing the axis of the roller to move out of the notch.
Abstract:
A system and method for purchasing a money order via the internet including the steps of providing an internet based money order system capable of generating money orders upon the receipt of a purchase request by a prospective buyer via the internet for a predetermined amount of funds. The prospective buyer transmits information to the money order system, via the internet, which information is required to purchase the money order. The money order is then remotely generated by the money order system and is delivered to an intended recipient of the money order.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for communicating supplemental information associated with a product or service to mobile devices. One device may be a mobile device that includes a memory, a microphone, and a processor in communication with the memory and the microphone, where the processor is configured to execute computer executable instructions to receive a tone via the microphone, where the tone comprises supplemental information. The processor is further configured to execute computer executable instructions to extract the supplemental information from the tone, and store the supplemental information in the memory of the mobile device. The device may further include the ability to initiate a purchase, using the mobile device, of a product or service associated with one or more tones received by the mobile device.
Abstract:
Methods are provided for executing a money transfer from a first party to a second party. Customer instructions are received at a host system to stage the money transfer. The instructions include specification of an amount of money to be transferred, specification of a first currency in which the funds are to be provided by the first party, specification of a second currency different from the first currency in which the funds are to be received by the second party, and specification of a trigger currency exchange rate. Confirmation is received that the funds have been collected from the first party. A currency exchange rate between the first currency and the second currency is monitored. It is determined whether the monitored currency exchange rate is at least as favorable for the first party as the trigger currency exchange rate.
Abstract:
In an embodiment, an arrangement for executing electronic card payment transactions includes first card reading means (10) for reading data from a payment card (12) and a first process machine addressing the first card reading means, which process machine is set up, in response to the reading of card data by the first card reading means, to cause the sending of an electronic authorization request to a remote transaction authorization system (14, 16). The arrangement further includes storage means (18) for storing an electronic authorization reply returned by the transaction authorization system in response to the authorization request. Second reading means (20-24) separate from the first reading means serve for the second-time reading of data from the payment card (12), a second process machine addressing the second card reading means being set up, in response to the second-time reading of card data by the second card reading means, to query the authorization reply stored in the storage means.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide methods, systems, and machine-readable media for identifying and sharing common trends represented in a corpus of private information without revealing the private information. Identifying and sharing common trends can comprise reading a first set of private information and a second set of private information. The first set of private information can be compared to the second set of private information and common information between the first set of private information and the second set of private information can be identified. Once identified, a determination can be made as to whether the identified common information represents an emerging trend, i.e., the common information re-occurs or develops over time. In response to determining the identified common information represents an emerging trend, the emerging trend can be reported without revealing the first set of private information or the second set of private information.
Abstract:
According to the invention, a method for transferring a credit amount out of an online system using a money order is disclosed. In one step, pay-out instructions are received at a server computer system from a wide-area computer network coupled to a payor. The pay-out instructions include at least two of a payee, a delivery location, and the credit amount. A first handler associated with the payor and a second handler for preparation of the money order according to the pay-out instructions are determined. The credit amount is transferred from the first handler to the online system. The pay-out instructions are sent to the second handler.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for electronically processing financial transactions involving corporate checks. A front end device at a location associated with a merchant and a check processing service configured to detect and process corporate checks. In one embodiment, the detection of the corporate check is achieved at the front end device by reading of an auxiliary on-us field in the check's magnetic ink character recognition (MICR) line. Such information denoting the check as a corporate check is used by the check processing service to at least partially base its assessment of whether to approve and process the corporate check electronically.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention may relate to systems, methods, and apparatus to facilitate locating a user of a transaction device. In one embodiment, a contactless transaction device for facilitating locating the user can be provided. The contactless transaction device may include an antenna operable to electromagnetically receive and transmit data. The contactless transaction device may also include a microchip comprising a memory operable to store consumer account data and location alert data and in communication with the antenna, wherein the microchip is operable to transmit the location alert data to a transaction terminal via the antenna when the contactless transaction device is presented to facilitate a transaction with the transaction terminal.
Abstract:
A method and system are provided for transferring value from a value provider. A request initiated by a value owner to transfer value from the value provider to a recipient is received. An exchange provider receives the value in accordance with the request. The exchange provider includes a processor that converts the received value into a converted form. The converted value is then transmitted to the recipient by the exchange provider.
