In an example embodiment, the sensor arrangement includes an optical encoder and the movable component includes a plurality of light barrier formations. The movable component may be a number sleeve that provides a visual indication of a dose programmed into the injection device.

Rotation of the drive sleeve (40) relative to the housing (10) causes the piston rod (30) to translate relative to the housing (10). The piston rod (30) is coupled to the housing (10) via a threaded interface (16, 31) with at least two different pitches.

The dose setting member is further operable in a second direction which is opposite to the first direction to cancel a set dose.
