    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Disclosed is method of refreshing a security key in a secondary cell group (SCG) controlled by a secondary node (SN) of a wireless communication system, wherein the network is configured to operate in dual connectivity (DC) mode and further comprises a master cell group (MCG) controlled by a master node (MN) the method comprising: the SN indicating in a first message to a user equipment (UE) that security key refresh is to be performed; the UE generating the refreshed security key and transmitting a second message to the SN, wherein the second message indicates that the security key has been refreshed.

    Abstract: An operation method of a transmitting apparatus in a wireless communication system is provided. The operation method includes receiving a service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) header configuration and a header compression configuration through higher layer signaling and when an SDAP entity receives first data from an upper layer, generating an SDAP header and transmitting second data obtained by adding the generated SDAP header to the first data to a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity, the generating and the transmitting being performed by the SDAP entity, performing, by the PDCP entity, header compression on an upper layer header of the second data, excluding the SDAP header, performing, by the PDCP entity, ciphering on data of the second data, excluding the SDAP header and generating a PDCP header and transmitting third data obtained by adding the generated PDCP header to the ciphered data to a lower layer, the generating and the transmitting being performed by the PDCP entity.

The method includes receiving, from a base station, packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) configuration information including information indicating that a PDCP layer is configured with out-of-order delivery; identifying that the PDCP layer is configured with the out-of-order delivery based on the PDCP configuration information; and processing a PDCP packet based on a result of identifying that the PDCP layer is configured with the out-of-order delivery. A header compression or a header decompression associated with a robust header compression (ROHC) are not configured, in case that the PDCP layer is configured with the out-of-order delivery.

    Abstract: A method, performed by a user equipment (UE), of transmitting uplink data is provided. The method includes receiving, from a base station, configuration information for an uplink resource; determining a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) process based on the configuration information; starting a configured grant timer (CGT) and a configured grant retransmission timer (CGRT) when uplink data corresponding to the HARQ process is transmitted; restarting the CGRT when the uplink data corresponding to the HARQ process is retransmitted; receiving, from the base station, downlink feedback information (DFI); and stopping the CGT and the CGRT based on the DFI indicating whether the base station received the uplink data.
