    Abstract: Timing advance (TA) handling for sidelink (SL)-assisted positioning of a first user equipment (UE), comprises determining the first UE is configured to transmit an SL positioning reference signal (SL-PRS) to a second UE for the SL-assisted positioning. A guard period length can be determined based on a configuration of the first UE for transmitting the SL-PRS, where the guard period may comprise a period of time during which the SL-PRS is transmitted by the first UE. A message can be sent to a serving transmission reception point (TRP) of the first UE, where the message indicates the guard period and comprises a TA-related request. The TA-related request includes a request to postpone applying a TA command received by the first UE until after the guard period, or a request for the serving TRP not to send a TA command to the first UE during the guard period.

    Abstract: The positions of multiple user equipments (UEs) are jointly determined by a location server using positioning measurements from a comment set of positioning reference signals (PRS), which may include downlink (DL) PRS, uplink (UL) PRS, sidelink (SL) PRS, or a combination thereof. The common set of PRS may be selected by the location server, e.g., based on a rough estimate of position of the UEs determined by the location server, a recommendation from the UEs, or a position report from the UEs. Once selected by the location server, an indication of the common set of PRS is sent to the UEs. The common set of PRS, alternatively, may be selected by one or more UEs, e.g., by a controlling UE or consensus, and one or more UEs provide an indication of the common set of PRS to the location server.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first UE may transmit a sidelink request to a second UE. The sidelink request may indicate a set or a segment of the data resources. A second UE may transmit a positive sidelink response indicating that the set or the segment of resources is available for reservation, or may refrain from transmitting a positive sidelink response if the set or the segment of the data resources is unavailable for reservation. A third UE may transmit a negative sidelink response indicating that the set or the segment of the data resources is unavailable for reservation, or may refrain from transmitting a negative sidelink response if the set or the segment of the data resources is available for reservation. If the requested data resources are available, then the first UE may transmit a sidelink confirmation reserving the requested data resources.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for determining shared resources associated with one or more user equipments (UEs) for sidelink communications, including control resources and data resources. A first UE may transmit a sidelink request to reserve a subset of data resources to a second UE, and may monitor for one or more sidelink responses indicating a positive sidelink response to the sidelink request, a negative sidelink response to the sidelink request, or both. The second UE may transmit a positive sidelink response if it is available for a data transmission. A third UE may transmit a negative sidelink response if it objects to the data transmission. The first UE may determine, based on monitoring for the one or more sidelink responses, whether to transmit a sidelink confirmation indicating a reservation of the subset of the data resources to the second UE.

    Abstract: Frequency-dependent changes in beam shapes of transmitted RF signals can be provided to a receiving device. Beam shape information can include, for example, gain of a beam and a plurality of azimuth and elevation directions, boresight and width of a main lobe (and optionally side lobes) of the beam, information regarding a pattern of antenna elements of an antenna panel used to transmit the beam, and/or similar information. The type of information provided can dictate the amount of overhead required, and we therefore vary depending on the means by which the information is conveyed. Additional detail is provided in the embodiments described herein.
