Abstract: The described techniques provide a first device configured to transmit, to a second device, an indication of a beam switching capability. In response, the second device schedules resources for a set of shared channel transmissions based on a first beam switching configuration. If the first beam switching configuration exceeds the beam switching capability of the first device, the first device applies a set of selection rules to the first beam switching configuration to obtain a second beam switching configuration and communicates with the second device according to the second beam switching configuration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for determining shared resources associated with one or more user equipments (UEs) for sidelink communications, including control resources and data resources. A first UE may transmit a sidelink request to reserve a subset of data resources to a second UE, and may monitor for one or more sidelink responses indicating a positive sidelink response to the sidelink request, a negative sidelink response to the sidelink request, or both. The second UE may transmit a positive sidelink response if it is available for a data transmission. A third UE may transmit a negative sidelink response if it objects to the data transmission. The first UE may determine, based on monitoring for the one or more sidelink responses, whether to transmit a sidelink confirmation indicating a reservation of the subset of the data resources to the second UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit a configured grant that indicates time-frequency resources for a user equipment (UE) to use to transmit sidelink or uplink messages in a wireless communications system. To reduce the amount of low priority traffic that may interfere with higher priority traffic, the base station may configure a threshold probability to allow high priority sidelink transmissions and to cancel low priority transmissions. The base station may transmit a cancellation indication that includes a priority indication instructing the UE to cancel transmissions having a priority less than a priority threshold during the allocated time-frequency resources. Based on transmitting the cancellation indication, the base station may cancel transmissions that have low priority, and the UE may determine whether to transmit (or to refrain from transmitting) one or more messages based on the priority of the message.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may use information received as part of a two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure to indicate that the two-step RACH procedure has been completed. For example, a UE may perform a two-step RACH procedure that includes the UE transmitting a first message to a base station and, in response, receiving a second message from a base station. The second message may include feedback information the UE uses to signal that the RACH procedure has been completed. In some examples, the feedback information may indicate a physical channel or grant, or both, and a third message may be transmitted by the UE based on the feedback information included in the second message. As such, the third message may serve as an indication that the second message was received, and the UE completed the RACH procedure.

The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support aperiodic and cross component carrier PRSs. Generally, the described techniques provide for receiving a dynamic trigger indicating that a UE is to monitor for one or more downlink positioning reference signals (PRSs). The UE may generate a timing measurement for the one or more downlink PRSs, and may transmit a measurement report that indicates the timing measurement to a transmission/reception point. A UE may also transmit a capability indicator, indicating that the UE is capable of maintaining phase coherence for a PRS that spans multiple component carriers, receive control signaling that indicates multiple component carries on which the PRS is phase coherent, generate a timing measurement for the PRS based on the control signaling, and transmit a measurement report that indicates the timing measurement to the transmission/reception point.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) may include receiving a message requesting estimated channel characteristics of a secondary band based on measuring characteristics of a channel in the primary band. The method also includes measuring characteristics of the channel in the primary band. The method estimates channel characteristics of the secondary band based on the primary band characteristics measurements. The estimating may occur without measuring signals in the secondary band. Further, the method may report the estimated channel characteristics of the secondary band and receive an indication of a secondary cell group, based on the estimated channel characteristics of the secondary band.
