Abstract: An example device for processing media data is configured to parse a bitstream including the media data, the bitstream being formatted according to Common Media Application Format (CMAF), detect, during the parsing, a file type (FTYP) value for a CMAF track file of the bitstream, determine that a CMAF header of the CMAF track file starts with the FTYP value, and process one or more CMAF fragments following the CMAF header of the CMAF track file. The device may additionally be configured to detect one or more segment type (STYP) values in the bitstream, determine that each of the one or more STYP values corresponds to a start of a respective one of the CMAF fragments, and process each of the CMAF fragments starting from the corresponding STYP value.

Various embodiments include methods and devices for signaling a description of a scene with media components potentially coming from different parties. In various aspects, a scene graph may be signaled through a session description protocol (SDP) during a session initiation protocol (SIP) session setup. In various embodiments, the scene graph may include respective graphical output nodes assigned to be controlled by each of the plurality of participant computing devices in an immersive three-dimensional group session.

Abstract: An example device for retrieving media data includes a memory configured to store media data; and one or more processors implemented in circuitry and configured to: retrieve data of an addressable resource information (ARI) track of a media presentation, the data of the ARI track describing addressable resources and subsets of a switching set of the media presentation, the switching set comprising a plurality of media tracks including the addressable resources, the ARI track being a single index track of the media presentation, the addressable resources comprising retrievable media data; determine durations and sizes of the addressable resources from the data of the ARI track; determine one or more of the addressable resources to retrieve using the data of the ARI track including the durations and sizes of the addressable resources; retrieve the determined addressable resources; and store the retrieved addressable resources in the memory.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a base station may transmit system information indicating multiple multicast-broadcast network areas, and may further provide configuration information for each multicast-broadcast network area indicating a location of multicast scheduling information (MSI). The MSI may include an indication of frequency resources on which to receive broadcast or multicast services. The MSI may indicate specific services for an multicast-broadcast network area that are provided via the different frequency resources (for example, different cells, carriers, channels, among other examples). In some examples, the base station may schedule broadcast or multicast services across frequency resources via semi-persistent scheduling. The MSI may indicate a redundancy version configuration (for example, time and frequency patterns for combined redundancy version broadcast transmissions).

Abstract: A client device (e.g., user equipment or “UE”) may be configured to engage in a media communication session, such as a WebRTC session, with another client device. The client devices may separate a quality of service (QoS) specification from a QoS flow definition, to allow for separate interactive connectivity establishment (ICE) negotiation. The QoS specification may cover all segments of a connection for the media communication session. For example, QoS may be requested for a case where a server (e.g., a Traversal Using Relay Network Address Translation (TURN) server) is hosted by a mobile network operator (MNO). The QoS specification and the QoS flow description may be linked.

Abstract: An example device for retrieving media data includes a memory configured to store media data; and one or more processors implemented in circuitry and configured to: receive data indicating a packet loss signaling mechanism, the packet loss signaling mechanism comprising at least one of that segments are sent in chunks, that transport object identifiers (TOIs) are sequential, or that a last packet of an object assigned to a TOI has a specific flag set in a header of the last packet, a base URL, a maximum latency, or a synchronization point in a file delivery header; detect loss of a packet using the at least one of the packet loss signaling mechanisms, the lost packet including missing media data; generate a byte range request for the missing media data using information of the file delivery header; and deliver a proper media object to a media application.
