    Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to switching waveforms in a waveform switching gap. In an aspect, using a transceiver, a first signal of a first waveform can be communicated. Assistance information related to switching the transceiver to use a second waveform can be communicated as well, and based at least in part on the assistance information, the transceiver can be switched to use a second waveform. Using the transceiver, a second signal of a second waveform can be communicated.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a report that includes measurements associated with one or more downlink reference signals that are received using a set of candidate downlink beams. The UE may transmit one or more uplink reference signals using a set of candidate uplink beams. The UE may receive, from the base station, information that indicates, among the set of candidate downlink beams and the set of candidate uplink beams, a best uplink beam to use for one or more uplink transmissions. For example, the base station may select the best uplink beam based at least in part on the measurements associated with the one or more downlink reference signals and measurements associated with the one or more uplink reference signals.     Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to techniques for paging operations in a wireless communication network that uses frequency hopping between bandwidth parts (BWPs). A paging indicator message, carried in a paging indicator search space of a given BWP, indicates to a mobile device monitoring the paging indicator search space that a paging message may arrive at the device's next paging occasion. A mobile device using frequency hopping may locate, and hop to, an anchor BWP with a paging indicator search space according to a paging indication periodicity. When it receives a paging indicator message, the device may locate, and hop to, a paging BWP and monitor a paging search space for a paging message. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: A RAN node can indicate to a UE that a compact measurement report is to be used for beam measurements in a measurement report. A compact measurement report uses beam index numbers to indicate a position in a reference set. The reference set has a listing of resource indicators for beam measurements. As such, a reported beam measurement associated with a beam index number is also associated with the resource indicator positioned in the reference set indicated by the beam index number. The beam index numbers can be transmitted using fewer bits than are used for a resource indicator. The payload for a measurement report such as a L-SINR or L-RSP L1 measurement report is thereby reduced when the measurement report is transmitted as a compact measurement report.
