    Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a communication method and a communication apparatus. According to the method, a terminal device receives configuration information from a network device. The terminal device determines, in a first parameter set based on the configuration information, a parameter corresponding to a random access preamble. The terminal sends the random access preamble to the network device based on the parameter corresponding to the random access preamble and the configuration information.

    Abstract: This application discloses a delay reduction method and apparatus, applied to a random access process. The method includes: sending, by a terminal device, a message 1 to a network device, where the message 1 is a random access preamble; receiving, by the terminal device, a message 2 sent by the network device; and sending, by the terminal device, a message 3 to the network device, where a time gap between receiving the message 2 and sending the message 3 is set by the terminal based on a timing advance (TA) value. In an embodiment, the TA value is related to a message 1 format of the terminal device and a cell radius or subcarrier spacing supported by the message 1. In this solution, a TA value is reduced, and random access efficiency is improved.

    Abstract: This application provides a method for transmitting a paging message, a terminal device, and a network device. The method includes: determining, by a terminal device, a target paging resource, where the target paging resource includes at least one of the following types of information: position information of a target paging occasion, position information of a target paging frame, and position information of a target monitoring window; and receiving, by the terminal device, a target paging message on the target paging resource, where the target paging message is a paging message sent by a network device to the terminal device. The terminal device and the network device can be used in a communications system applying a beamforming technology, so that the terminal device can receive a paging message sent by the network device to the terminal device.

    Abstract: This application discloses a communications method and apparatus. The method includes: obtaining, by a terminal device, downlink synchronization signal block index information; receiving, by the terminal device, information used to indicate an association relationship between a random access resource RO and a synchronization signal block; and accessing, by the terminal device, a network device based on the information on an RO corresponding to the synchronization signal block index information. This application further discloses a corresponding apparatus. A time-frequency location of a random access resource associated with each downlink synchronization signal is indicated, so that the terminal device obtains, through downlink synchronization, a time-frequency location for sending an uplink random access signal, to avoid a blind attempt of the terminal device and a beam mismatch of the network device occurring when the network device receives a random access signal, thereby improving efficiency.

    Abstract: This application provides a paging message transmission method and apparatus, where the method includes: receiving, by a terminal device, a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) from a network device, where one or more types of first indication information, second indication information, a short message, and scheduling information of a paging message are carried on the PDCCH, the first indication information is used to indicate that the PDCCH carries the short message and/or the scheduling information, and the second indication information is used to indicate whether the scheduling information of the paging message is valid and/or whether the terminal device needs to receive a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH); and obtaining, by the terminal device based on the PDCCH, one or more types of the information carried on the PDCCH.

The method includes: An excitation device determines a first sequence, generates a first signal, and sends the first signal, where the first signal carries the first sequence; after receiving the first signal, a backscatter device modulates backscatter device data onto the received first signal to obtain a second signal, and backscatters the second signal, to implement first scrambling on the backscatter device data by using the first sequence; and a receiving device determines the first sequence, receives the second signal from the backscatter device, and demodulates the received second signal based on the first sequence, to obtain the backscatter device data carried on the second signal.
