An image reading apparatus includes: a contact glass provided at an upper surface of a main body of the apparatus to set a manuscript thereon, an image sensor being positioned below the contact glass and having a reading surface on contact glass side for reading an image from the manuscript on the contact glass, a carriage supporting the image sensor accommodated in a sensor container formed to have a recess open to the contact glass side, a rail member slidably supporting the carriage, and a biasing member biasing the image sensor to the contact glass side via a biased portion adjacent to the reading surface of the image sensor. An upper end of the biasing member is positioned below the contact glass and above the lower surface of the image sensor.

There is provided a tank for storing ink to be supplied to an ink consuming device, including: a casing; an ink chamber; an ink inlet; an ink outlet; and an atmosphere communication part, the atmosphere communication part having first and second parts, and an atmosphere port, the first part having a labyrinth channel, the atmosphere port providing fluid communication between the ink chamber and an outside of the casing through the first part and the second part. The labyrinth channel and the second part share a common wall. The common wall defines a bottom of the labyrinth channel and a bottom of the second part. The ink inlet is different from the ink outlet and is located above the ink outlet. The entire labyrinth channel overlaps the second part in a horizontal direction orthogonal to an up-down direction and a front-rear direction when viewed in the horizontal direction.

The controller repeats one of a set of a multiple-liquids recording pass, where liquids in different types are discharged from the first nozzles and the second nozzles, and a first relative-movement action, where the head and a recording medium are moved relatively in a relative-movement direction, and a set of a single-liquid recording pass, where a liquid in a same type is discharged from the first nozzles and the second nozzles, and a second relative-movement action, where the head and the recording medium are moved relatively in the relative-movement direction. A resolution of an image recorded in the single-liquid recording pass is higher than a resolution of an image recorded in the multiple-liquids recording pass in the relative-movement direction.
