    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for performing contention window size updates for code block group based retransmission configurations in a wireless communication system. A code block group based wireless communication may be performed in unlicensed spectrum. A reference burst of the code block group based wireless communication may be identified. One or more of a number of acknowledgements or a number of negative acknowledgements associated with the reference burst may be identified. A contention window size adjustment may be determined based at least in part on one or more of the number of acknowledgements or the number of negative acknowledgements associated with the reference burst.

    Abstract: Embodiments of efeMTC synchronization signals for enhanced cell search and enhanced system information acquisition are described. In some embodiments, an apparatus of a base station (BS) is configured to generate a length-x sequence for an efeMTC synchronization signal, the length-x sequence configured for repetition in frequency domain within 6 physical resource blocks (PRB). In some embodiments, to generate the length-x sequence, the BS may be configured to select any one index of the set of root indices {1, 2, 63}, excluding the root indices 25, 29 and 34, to correspond to a different physical-layer cell identity (PCID). In some embodiments, the BS may be configured to encode RRC signaling to include a System Information Block (SIB) comprising configuration information for transmission of the efeMTC synchronization signal, and transmit the length-x sequence as the efeMTC synchronization signal in frequency resources according to the SIB.

    Abstract: Technology for a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) operable to communicate over an anchor channel for Unlicensed Internet of Things (U-IoT) is disclosed. The gNB can encode control information for transmission on two discovery reference signal (DRS) subframes to a user equipment (UE). The control information can be transmitted on an anchor channel having a set frequency for U-IoT in an adaptive frequency hopping system. The control information can include: a primary synchronization signal (PSS), a secondary synchronization signal (SSS), a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) transmission, and a system information block for MulteFire bandwidth reduced (SIB-MF-BR).
