Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to setting up an account for a service. A request to set up an account for a first service is received. In response to receiving the request to set up the account for the first service, a first login option and a second login option are displayed. If an input selecting the first login option is detected, a request to use first contact information for a user to set up the account for the first service is transmitted. If an input selecting the second login option is detected, a request to use second contact information for the user to set up the account for the first service is transmitted. The second contact information is automatically generated for the service and does not reveal the first contact information for the user.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a computing device may conduct an active telephone conversation and a proximity of the computing device to a second computing device may be determined to be within a predetermined distance. Moreover, a determination of a capability of the second computing device to conduct a telephone conversation may be made, and in response to such determinations, the active telephone conversation may be transferred from the computing device to the second computing device. In an example, when a user holding a telephone conversation moves near a smart speaker, the telephone conversation may be transferred to the smart speaker from the user's mobile device, should the user desire such a transfer. Moreover, as the user moves around, the telephone conversation may move with the user from device to device, enabling a seamless and intuitive telephone conversation experience for the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying an icon representation of a webpage are provided. In one exemplary method, while displaying a web browser, an electronic device receives a request to display an icon representation of a webpage. In response to receiving the request, the device determines whether the webpage provides access to an image that meets predefined quality standards. In accordance with a determination that the webpage provides access to an image that meets predefined quality standards, the device displays the high-quality image as an icon associated with the webpage at a respective location in the web browser. In accordance with a determination that the webpage does not provide access to an image that meets the predefined quality standards, the device identifies other content associated with the webpage, generates a generated icon based on the content, and displays the generated icon at a respective location in the web browser.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for updating firmware of an accessory device. An accessory development kit of the accessory device can communicate with an accessory update daemon using a home management daemon of a controller device. Based on a firmware update policy of the accessory device, the accessory update daemon will check for firmware updates. When firmware updates are available, the accessory update daemon can instruct the home management daemon to stage the update. The home management daemon will notify the accessory development kit to be in a stage mode. The accessory update daemon will download the firmware update and send the firmware update to the accessory development kit of the accessory device using an interface for the secure channel provided by the home management daemon. The accessory device can be a third party accessory device that does not have its own firmware updating application.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing a notification that a person is at a particular location. For example, a resident device may receive from a user device an image that shows a face of a first person, the image being captured by a first camera of the user device. The resident device may also receive, from another device having a second camera, a second image showing a portion of a face of a second person, the second camera having a viewable area showing a particular location. The resident device may determine a score indicating a level of similarity between a first set of characteristics associated with the face of the first person and a second set of characteristics associated with the face of a second person. The resident device may then provide to the user device a notification based on determining the score.
