摘要： An electrical switch the body of which includes a base, and supports an operating member for rotational and axial movement relative to the body. The base is formed with an aperture and a light source support member is received in the aperture. Between the light source support member and the base there is defined a passage therein, in use, a region of an appropriately shaped blocking element can be received. The blocking element, when incorporated in the switch, extends into the path of either axial, or rotational movement of the operating member relative to the body to prevent such movement of the operating member.

摘要： An electrical switch comprises a body, including a base, an operating member supported by the body for rotational and axial movement relative thereto, an aperture extending through the base and a light source support member received in said aperture. The support member and the wall of the aperture are so shaped that the support member can be located in the base in either of first and second different axial positions relative to the base. The support member includes a blocking element, which in the first axial location of the support member relative to the base extends into the path of either axial or rotational movement of the operating member relative to the body to prevent such movement of the operating member relative to the body. The second location of the support member relative to the base is such that said blocking element lies out of the path of either axial or rotational movement of the operating member so that both movements of the operating member relative to the body are permitted.

摘要： An electrical switch of the kind wherein an operating lever is movable relative to the fixed body of the switch in whole or in part in different modes to operate contacts of the switch. The switch includes a contact carrier which is supported on the fixed body for movement relative thereto in a first plane between first and second positions. A movable contact member is supported by the carrier, but is movable relative to the carrier between first and second positions. First and second fixed electrical contacts are engageable by the contact member in the first position of the contact member while the contact carrier occupies its first position, and third and fourth fixed electrical contacts are spaced from the first and second fixed electrical contacts in the direction of movement of the contact carrier. The third and fourth fixed contacts are engageable by the movable contact member while the contact member is in its first position but with the carrier in its second position. Movement of the lever or part of the lever in one of its modes causes movement of the movable contact member relative to the contact carrier while movement of the lever in the other of its modes causes movement of the carrier relative to the body.

摘要： A dual function pusher and rotate switch assembly for actuating, for example, a display light and/or time correction which includes a crown portion on the outside of the watch case and a shaft portion extending through the wall of the case. The shaft portion includes an intermediate section on the inside of the case which cooperates with a spring to provide a two position rotary detent action.In addition to permitting detent holding of the stem in the proper contact position, the spring arrangement also enables biased axial movement of the stem. The internal end of the shaft includes an eccentric tab which contacts a precisely positioned first switch blade when the stem being in a first detent position is pushed-in or contacts a second switch blade if the crown is rotated to a second detent position. If the crown is pushed-in while in the second detent position, both switch blades are engaged causing actuation of two functions such as causing simultaneous illumination and updating of the display.

The timer and manual on-off switch preferably includes a toggle arm projecting from the wall, the arm being movable to a stable power turn-on position where the lights controlled thereby are turned on, a stable power turn-off position where the lights involved are turned off, an unstable timer on setting position which establishes as the time the lights involved are to be turned on when the arm is set for automatic operation the time the toggle arm is momentarily moved thereto, and an unstable timer off setting position which establishes as the time when the lights involved are automatically turned off the time the toggle arm is momentarily moved thereto. The automatic timer is set into operation by moving the toggle arm to a normal unstable neutral position when it is held in such position by shifting the toggle arm laterally into a self-holding position.

摘要： Cylindrical tap terminals are attached to a base plate and are positioned symmetrically around an opening in the base plate. A contact carrier is positioned in the base plate opening and is dimensioned for rotation therein. A movable contact blade is disposed in a radial opening in the contact carrier and is dimensioned to connect together two adjacent tap terminals. A shaft with an inclined surface thereon extends into another opening in the contact carrier and is coupled to an operating handle. The handle may be pulled to move the inclined surface and permit movement of the contact blade away from the tap terminals. Rotation of the handle rotates the shaft, the contact carrier, and the contact blade to another position. When in position, a coil spring forces the inclined surface against the contact blade to maintain adequate electrical contact pressure between the blade and the tap terminals.

摘要： An electrical control or operation device for wheelchairs for invalids is provided, the wheelchair being driven and steered electrically. The device comprises two control means, each preferably consisting of two potentiometers, one of the control means controlling the speed forward and backward of the wheelchair, and the other control means controlling the direction of motion of the wheelchair. The two control means may be potentiometers or similar means and can be adjusted individually by one single lever. The body or casing of one of the two control means is fixed to the frame of the control device, and that of the other control means is mechanically connected to the control shaft of the first control means, whereas the control shaft of the second control means is mechanically connected to the lever. At the neutral position of the lever corresponding to zero speed and straight course of the wheelchair, the axes of the lever and of the two said shafts are at substantially right angles each in a different coordinate direction. The device is mounted on the wheelchair such that when moving the lever forward or backward in the longitudinal direction of the chair, the chair will move forward or backward, respectively. Similarly, when moving the lever laterally, the chair will turn into the corresponding direction. The lever may be operated by only two fingers or even by only one finger of the hand, or by the cupped palm thereof.

摘要： A double action switch, for example having both a rotary action and a pushbutton action, is provided with a removable insert which blocks one action while permitting the other. The switch has a frame in which a shaft is supported, for rotational and axial movements. An insert slides into the frame and engages with the shaft to prevent movement of the shaft for one of the actions, while permitting movement of the shaft for the other action. The switch is particularly useful in a telephone unit in which one or more optional operational features are available. The units can be produced, wired and ready for all options, only those required and paid for being available by use of inserts in the switches.
