摘要: Proposed is a reactor cooling system for cooling down a reactor damaged by a disaster accident and a reactor cooling method using same using contaminated water generated at a nuclear reactor as a cooling water source for cooling the nuclear reactor after the accident, thereby maximally suppressing discharge of the contaminated water into the sea. To this end, the reactor cooling system prosed above includes a nuclear power generation facility, a seawater storage tank, a seawater inflow flow path for introducing the seawater into the seawater storage tank and a seawater discharge flow path for discharging the seawater from the seawater storage tank to the sea, connected to one end and another end of the seawater storage tank, respectively, a heat exchanger installed in a water storage space of the seawater storage tank, a contaminated water supply flow path, and a contaminated water discharge flow path.

摘要: The fuel cartridge may include a plurality of fuel channels, a first header disposed on a first side of a fuel matrix, a second header disposed on a second side of the fuel matrix opposite to the first side, and a plurality of cooling tubes through which a working fluid flows. Each of the plurality of cooling tubes may pass through each corresponding cooling channel of the plurality of cooling channels, where each of the plurality of cooling tubes has a first end connected to the first header and a second end connected to the second header. The fuel cartridge may include an interior space for sealingly containing the fuel matrix may include a pressure boundary independent from an interior of the plurality of cooling tubes, such that the interior space is not in fluid communication with the plurality of cooling tubes.

摘要: Arrangement for supporting U-bend tube sections in the high heat environment of steam generators using flat bars. The invention uses a combination of thicker and thinner flat bars to impart a serpentine path to the arc of the normally curvilinear U-tubes. The support system accommodates the dilation and contraction of coolant tubes and other elements caused by the extreme and varying conditions inside a steam generator, and which can cause gaps between coolant tubes and prior art tube support bars. Bars of alternating thickness provide alternating offsets to tensionally push and support each tube on multiple sides and in multiple locations, and this tension keeps the tubes in contact with at least some flat bars on multiple sides regardless of size and shape changes. Support arrangement includes a set of fan bars, each fan bar including thick and thin flat bars projecting up and out from a collector bar.

摘要: Combined cleanup and heat sink systems work with nuclear reactor coolant loops. Combined systems may join hotter and colder sections of the coolant loops in parallel with any steam generator or other extractor and provide optional heat removal between the same. Combined systems also remove impurities or debris from a fluid coolant without significant heat loss from the coolant. A cooler in the combined system may increase in capacity or be augmented in number to move between purifying cooling and major heat removal from the coolant, potentially as an emergency cooler. The cooler may be joined to the hotter and colder sections through valved flow paths depending on desired functionality. Sections of the coolant loops may be fully above the cooler, which may be above the reactor, to drive flow by gravity and enhance isolation of sections of the coolant loop.

摘要: A core plate assembly for a boiling water reactor, and a method of performing work thereon are disclosed. The core plate assembly comprises a core plate having through-going apertures, and a beam structure comprising parallel first beams and parallel second beams being perpendicular to the first beams. The beams enclose a plurality of rectangular areas each enclosing four of the through-going apertures. Control rod guide tubes are aligned with a respective one of the through-going apertures. A transition pieces is received in a respective one of the control rod guide tubes, and has four passages for communicating with a respective fuel assembly. Each passage permits a coolant flow into the respective fuel assembly. A flow inlet is provided for the coolant into each passage. At least one of the flow inlets has a cross-sectional shape deviating from a circular shape.
