The display apparatus includes a panel assembly accommodated in a case having a front substrate, electrode layers and a rear substrate; a driver provided between the case and the panel assembly to drive the electrode layers; an electromagnetic wave shield layer being a transparent thin film formed through evaporation, having a predetermined size, and attached on the top surface of the front substrate shielding electromagnetic waves generated from the electrode layers; a reflection-preventing film built up on the top surface of the electromagnetic wave shield layer cutting off noise signals of light emitted from the panel assembly; a cover coupled over the reflection-preventing film in contact with a predetermined stepped area of the panel assembly; and electrode connectors provided in a predetermined area of the electromagnetic wave shield layer electrically connecting the driver, panel assembly, electromagnetic wave shield layer, cover, and case.

    摘要: An index-matching coating is applied directly to a low-emissivity (nulllowEnull) thin-film coating. Nodules growing from a site in the lowE coating are removed to avoid propagation of defects through the layers of the index-matching coating. A tempering step in an oxygen-containing atmosphere produces compressive stress in the lowE coating and hardens the coating. The compressive stress facilitates removal of the nodules and the hardening allows mechanical cleaning of the lowE coating prior to the index-matching coating, further removing nodules. Magnesium-fluoride is used as the final layer of the index-matching coating in one embodiment to improve abrasion resistance. The resulting glass panel may be used as a display panel in a plasma display or an organic light-emitting diode display, for example.

The adhesive-layer 13-side surface of the metallic foil 11null may be formed with a darkening layer 12. The roughness of the adhesive-layer 13-side surface (lower surface) of the metallic foil 11null is preferably such that the maximum height Rmax be more than 0 and less than 4 nullm, more preferably more than 0 and 2 nullm or less. As long as the maximum height Rmax of this surface of the metallic foil 11null falls in the above-described range, the adhesive layer never contains air bubbles in such sizes that reflectance is adversely affected. Further, the roughness of the surface (upper surface) of the metallic foil 11null, opposite to the adhesive-layer 13-side surface, is preferably such that the arithmetic mean roughness Ra is in the range between 0.02 nullm and 1 nullm. As long as the arithmetic mean roughness Ra of this surface of the metallic foil 11null is in the above range, it is possible to efficiently conduct vacuuming to bring, into close contact, a photosensitive resin layer and a photomask in sheet form placed on the photosensitive resin layer, before effecting the pattern-wise exposure of the photosensitive resin layer.

    摘要: There are provided a plasma display panel (PDP) with improved energy recovery efficiency by which EMI generated at the PDP can be offset by an electrical field generated during a sustained discharge, the number of terminals connected to common electrodes can be reduced by minimizing the current flowing through the common electrodes without applying a voltage to the common electrodes during the sustained discharge, and the PDP can be tiled by minimizing the non-luminous area of the PDP, and a driving method thereof. In the PDP with improved energy recovery efficiency, connection terminals between scanning/common electrodes and external driving circuits are formed only at a non-luminous area at one end of a front glass substrate of a three-electrode face discharge PDP, with the non-luminous area of the other end greatly reduced, positive and negative discharge sustain pulses are alternately applied to an even-numbered scanning electrode and an odd-numbered scanning electrode, both electrodes are adjacent to each other, thereby suppressing an increase in impedance caused by the non-luminous area.
