Abstract: A superheated steam generator for crude oil recovery systems includes a centrally disposed second stage electric superheated steam generating tank surrounded and fed by a plurality of radially spaced first stage electric steam generating tanks. A primary manifold system supplies water to each of the first stage tanks and includes a central reservoir communicating with a plurality of constriction fittings. Each constriction fitting includes a tapered nozzle directed interiorly of the manifold toward a removable plug closing an associated inspection orifice permitting cleaning of the manifold and removal of the associated constriction fitting. Tubes coupled to opposite external ends of the constriction fittings deliver water to the first stage tanks, and are coupled to elongated tubes having portions extending longitudinally interiorly of the first stage tanks. A rigid tubular sheath coaxially surrounds and protects each of the last mentioned tubes, and defines a steam output passageway between the sheath and the mouth of each first stage tank. Steam from the first stage tanks is transmitted to the second stage tank by a plurality of radial equal length conduits extending between each first stage steam output passageway and the central manifold and by a pipe connected to the central manifold and extending longitudinally interiorly of the second stage tank. A steam output passageway is defined between the latter pipe and a rigid pipe extending between the central steam manifold and the mouth of the second stage heater tank body.

Abstract: A steam presser for finishing garments, etc. The presser comprises a steam-spouting press table, a steam-generating chamber of the heat-plate type disposed under the steam-spouting press table, compressive water-feed valve means mounted on the steam-generating chamber, and waste steam suction means disposed beside the steam-generating chamber. In operation, a necessary amount of water is fed into the steam-generating chamber by means of the compressive water-feed valve means against the steam pressure in the chamber. Steam produced in the steam-generating chamber is spouted out through the mattress of the press table to effect the finish of the materials pressed between the mattress and the cover plate of the press table. The steam suction means further enhances the finishing effect by sucking away the steam permeated into the materials.

Abstract: A garment finishing apparatus for dewrinkling clothes including a cabinet into the interior of which clothes to be finished are placed via a door, a steam generator for converting water into steam which is then emitted into the interior of the cabinet for dewrinkling the clothes, the steam generator being characterized by instantaneously converting the water into steam and generating a predetermined quantity of steam per garment refinishing cycle irrespective of the pressure at which the water is supplied to the steam generator, and air circulating and heating means for recirculating hot air through the interior of the cabinet to dry the previously steamed clothes. In a portable iron embodiment incorporating a remotely located steam generator connected to the iron via a flexible hose, a pulsing circuit interconnected between a manual electrical switch and the pressure-insensitive valve is provided to avoid flooding should the manual switch be actuated for an extended period of time. This application is a continuation-in-part of application Ser. No. 267,518, filed June 29, 1972 entitled ''''Garment Finishing Apparatus'''', and now U.S. Pat. No. 3,085,561.
