    摘要: A structural system and spatial enclosure defined by a new polyhedron, the isoicosahedron, having 20 faces consisting of eight hexagons and 12 pentagons, 54 straight line elements, and 36 vertices, which, in a preferred form, lie on the surface of an imaginary sphere circumscribing the polyhedron. In the preferred form, the hexagons are regular and congruent while the pentagons though congruent are irregular having three sides equal in length to the side length of the hexagons and two sides equal to said length divided by the square root 2. In other forms, the 36 vertices of the polyhedron lie on the surface of an imaginary enclosing spheroid, oblate, elongate, or irregular. The isoicosahedra form modular units which can be reiterated in a building structure. The packed modular polyhedra define unique polyhedral spaces each having nine faces consisting of six pentagons and three squares, the endoenneahedron.

    摘要: It is disclosed a densely packable sequential series of external housing units associated with succeeding internal housing units. The external housing units have inside volume and openings for receiving the internal housing unit. Means for facilitating the displacement of an internal unit out of an external unit, like integrated bearings, integrated wheels, integrated retractable wheels, and a low friction coating are installed on an inside shells of the associated external housing unit, on an outside shells of the internal housing unit. The housing units have a uniform cross section along a majority of one of the dimensions of the unit, having outlines like a circle, a triangular frame, a rectangular frame, a circular arc of, a trapezoidal frame, a polygon of five, six or more edges, a hyperbolic arc, and a parabolic arc, or other types of arches. The typical transverse linear size of an internal unit is 80% to 99% of the preceding external unit. The series is transportable as a single cargo item between locations. A shell of an housing unit may include at least one layer like highly insulating layer, anti-ballistic layer, and composite materials such as fiberglass reinforced plastic layer, polymer-metal composite layer, and carbon based composite materials.

    摘要: An immersive theater is provided having a screen oriented with respect to a pitched seating area to provide an immersive theater experience for all of the viewers. The theater can include a three-dimensional, concave shaped screen, defining a central axis that extends perpendicularly from the center point of the concave screen directed toward the seating area. The screen is oriented at a prescribed pitch angle (α) relative to the horizontal. The theater has a seating area having a plurality of seats for viewers and is set up in a stacked arrangement along a planar region and pitched at a prescribed angle (β). The seating area is further confined within a viewing area that is centered on the central axis of the screen.

    摘要: A computer process for fitting construction materials to an architectural surface modeled in CAD divides the surface into domains. Sample points are defined on each domain surface. A surface portion of a regular curved solid is matched to the sample points. The surface portion of the curved solid is defined in terms of a central reference and boundary conditions. The result is compared to stored specifications to identify construction materials capable of forming the domain. At least one construction material is identified that can form each domain.
