Abstract: An example hammer tacker includes a contact face for contacting a material and a firing mechanism adjacent the contact face. The firing mechanism drives a staple into the material when the contact face is brought into contact with the material. A curved staple guide extends from adjacent the contact face.

Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, a fastening device such as, for example, a forward acting stapler, is provided that includes a manually operable latch in order to store the built up potential energy that results from depressing the handle of the fastening device. Upon actuation of the latch, the plunger within the fastening device is released, thereby converting the stored energy of an internal compression spring into kinetic energy and ejecting a fastener (such as, for example, staples, nails or other types of fasteners) from the staple chamber to fasten an object.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes embodiments of a construction apparatus, or tool, that can drive and remove fasteners (e.g., staples). These embodiments have a handle portion, a head portion, and a fastener guide that orients the fastener in a ready-to-be deployed state. Actuation of the head portion can transmit a driving force to the fastener, thereby moving the fastener from the ready-to-be deployed state to a deployed state, which in one example drive the fastener into a target object (e.g., a board). The construction apparatus can also come equipped with a remover element that can transmit a removal force applied to the construction tool to the fastener. In one embodiment, the construction apparatus finds particular use with electrical staples, as the proposed designs can prevent damage to electrical cables, prevent the end user from striking his hand and fingers, and eliminate the need for carrying and/or using additional tools to mount and remove staples.

Abstract: A tacker includes a first arm pivotably connected to the body by a first pin and a second arm is pivotably connected to the body by a second pin. The first end of the second arm is movable along the underside of the first arm. A shaft is connected to the second end of the second arm and between two hook plates which are detachably hooked to a resilient plate which is connected with a push plate. The first arm is pivoted downward about the first pin while the second arm is pushed by the first arm and pivoted about the second pin. The hook plates lift the resilient plate, and are then disengaged from the resilient plate to release the push plate to eject staples. The first and second arms respectively perform two different leverage actions to save the users' efforts.

Abstract: A stapler 100 is provided with a driver 5 provided at a forward end of the driver arm 4, as shown in FIG. 20A, driving a staple 30 out according to any predetermined clinching force, the driver 5 having projections 5b, 5b which contact portions of the staple 30 over the legs of the staple pushed against the front inner wall of the magazine 3 by a staple-pushing member 40. Accordingly, the clinching force is transferred to the legs through the projections 5b, 5b of the driver 5 so that the clinching force can be concentrated onto the legs. Furthermore, a staple-pushing member 40 pushes the staple 30, so that it is possible to prevent buckling from occurring in the legs.

Abstract: A nail guiding structure of the present invention is disposed inside of the nail gun having a nail rail. The nail guiding structure includes one or more supporting members and a holding means. The supporting member can move between a first and a second position, wherein the supporting member can move toward the first position to elastically push nails in the air gun, so that the nails can be vertically held in front of the nail rail. The holding means can selectively hold the supporting member, so that the supporting member cannot move back to the second position. Thereby, a user can move the holding means to adapt for different thicknesses of nails. Only one nail can move to the front of the nail rail every time when a punching board of the nail gun punches. Consequently, the problems of nail jamming or crookedly stapling are prevented.

Abstract: A stapler selectively uses enhanced leverage to break a glue bond of a staple to separate the staple from a rack of staples in the stapler. The staple does not press a working surface during this operating stage. The extra leverage stage occurs through a minority of total handle travel, preferably via a pivoting lever linked to the striker at one end and the opposite end traversing between inner spaced apart ribs underneath the handle. A remaining non-leveraged handle travel stage ejects a staple out from the stapler body against a working surface. A track supports staples from an underside of the top of the staples. The track includes an outward extending bottom support for at least one staple on the track to prevent rotation of a short rack of staples.

Abstract: A spring energized stapler includes a “high start” design wherein a striker has a rest position above the staple track. A handle is pressed to energize a power spring while the striker remains stationary. At a predetermined position of the handle, the striker is released to eject a staple. A subassembly of a cage and the power spring provides a preload to the power spring in the rest position. The subassembly is separately movable from the handle to allow a handle pressing end to move farther than the striker's distance of travel. The handle includes a movable pivot location to enable enhanced motion of the handle pressing end. Alternatively, an optional lever links the striker to the power spring to provide leverage upon the power spring. A release latch may be mounted in front of the striker to be engaged by the lever or the handle.

Abstract: The present invention provides a stapler with a novel leaf spring actuation mechanism. According to the teaching of the present invention, the stapler comprises a striking plate for dispensing a staple from a staple magazine, a leaf spring engaged with the striking plate for driving the striking plate, and an actuation bar for lifting the leaf spring from a first position to a second position whereby lifting the striking plate from an initial position to a release position in which the leaf spring is released from the actuation bar to drive the striking plate towards the initial position. Preferably, a pair of lugs on the actuation bar pushes up a pair of tabs on the leaf spring when an L-shaped front end of the actuation bar moves upward along a ramp when an external force is applied to the actuation bar during the stapling operation.
