    Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to use of a default communication configuration for cross carrier wireless communication. For example, a wireless communication device such as a user equipment (UE) may use a default communication configuration that includes quasi-colocation information (e.g., a default CORESET configuration) for communication on a secondary component carrier (SCC). The default communication configuration may be used, for example, in scenarios where a CORESET is not defined for the SCC and other configuration information is not available. For example, other configuration information might not be available due to a short time gap between a grant sent on a primary component carrier (PCC) and the communication on the SCC scheduled by the grant.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for sounding reference signal (SRS) resource configuration enhancements. A method generally receiving pre-configuration information for one or more reference signal transmissions, performing, at a first time during an ON duration of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle, measurements on one or more reference signals based, at least in part, on the pre-configuration information, determining if, at a second time during the ON duration after the first time, a trigger frame associated with the one or more reference signal transmissions has been received, and transmitting a measurement report corresponding to the measurements if a trigger frame has been received.

In some aspects, a user equipment may receive an indication of a set of corresponding physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates that includes at least a first PDCCH candidate included in a first control resource set (CORESET) and a corresponding second PDCCH candidate included in a second CORESET, wherein the first CORESET and the second CORESET have different transmission configuration indication (TCI) states; and selectively perform, based at least in part on a configuration, at least one of: independent decoding of the first PDCCH candidate, independent decoding of the second PDCCH candidate, or joint decoding of the first PDCCH candidate and the second PDCCH candidate.     Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to configuring a media access control (MAC)-control element (CE) to update a sounding reference signal (SRS) beam within a wireless communication system. Other aspects described herein relate to configuring default beam information for determining a beam for data channel communications within the wireless communication system. A user equipment (UE) or other device can determine to use the default beam information for configuring the beam for a data channel communication and for performing power control using, e.g., physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) parameters. In addition, in some examples, the device can transmit the data channel communication using a beam configured based on the default beam information.
