摘要: A process for controlling the heat generated during the manufacture an inhibited hydrofluoric acid aqueous composition comprising: hydrofluoric acid in solution; a weak base; and an alkanolamine; said process comprising the steps of: providing a pre-determined amount of weak base; adding a pre-determined amount of said hydrofluoric acid to said weak base and obtaining a solution; adding said alkanolamine to the resulting solution of hydrofluoric acid and weak base; mixing until all components are dissolved; wherein said alkanolamine and hydrofluoric acid are present in a molar ratio of at least 1:1.

摘要: An aqueous modified acid composition for use in oil industry activities, said composition comprising: an amino acid, an alkanolamine and strong acid wherein the mineral acid:alkanolamine/amino acid are present in a molar ratio of not more than 15:1, preferably not more than 10:1; it can also further comprise a metal iodide or iodate. Said composition demonstrates advantages over known conventional acids and modified acids.

摘要: A method of spearheading an acid into a wellbore is adapted to avoid the gelation of a friction reducer polymer. The method comprises injecting a synthetic or modified acid composition down a wellbore, the composition comprising: a synthetic or modified acid; a solvent; and a chelating agent. Optionally the composition may comprise a corrosion inhibitor package. The method further includes allowing sufficient time for the synthetic or modified acid composition to react with material which require acidic treatment and injecting a fracturing composition comprising a liquid and a friction reducing polymer down the wellbore.

摘要: A method for the fracking or stimulation of a hydrocarbon-bearing formation, said method comprising the steps of: providing a wellbore in need of stimulation; inserting a plug in the wellbore at a predetermined location; inserting a perforating tool and a spearhead or breakdown acid into the wellbore; positioning the tool at said predetermined location; perforating the wellbore with the tool thereby creating a perforated area; allowing the spearhead acid to come into contact with the perforated area for a predetermined period of time sufficient to prepare the formation for fracking or stimulation; removing the tool form the wellbore; and initiating the fracking of the perforated area using a fracking fluid. Also disclosed is a corrosion inhibiting composition for us with the acid composition.

摘要: An aqueous synthetic acid composition for use in oil industry activities, said composition comprising: lysine and hydrogen chloride in a molar ratio ranging from 1:3 to 1:12.5, preferably from more than 1:5 to 1:8.5; it can also further comprise a metal iodide or iodate; an alcohol or derivative thereof Said composition demonstrates advantageous properties over known synthetic acids at temperatures above 90° C. Said composition is useful in various oil and gas industry operations. Preferred embodiments of said composition providing substantial advantages in matrix acidizing by increasing the effectiveness of wormholing compared to conventional mineral acids such as HCl.
