Abstract:
The present photonic RF generation and distribution system provides a system and method for distributing an RF output signal. The photonic RF distribution system includes two optical sources for generating optical signals. A first optical source (42) is operable to generate a first optical signal having an operating frequency. A second optical source (44) is operable to generate a second optical signal having an operating frequency. A modulator (46) is operable to impress an RF modulation signal on a tapped portion of the first optical signal such that a modulated signal is generated. A first coupler (52) combines the modulated signal with a tapped portion of the second optical signal, thereby forming a combined signal having a difference frequency component. A control photodetector (50) is responsive to the combined signal to generate a tone signal. An offset locking circuit (56), responsive to the tone signal, controls the operating frequency of the optical sources (42 and 44) such that the first optical signal and the second optical signal are frequency locked.
Abstract:
A method for surface treatment of at least one electrically conducting substrate or a substrate that has been coated so as to be conducting (1) by means of a gas placed in the region of an electric discharge (2). The discharge region is restricted by at least two essentially opposite sides of the substrate surface to be treated (7). This process is especially suitable for treating band-shaped and continuously supplied substrates.
Abstract:
A method for operating a navigational system having a digital map base which is a reproduction of real geographical regions and contains data on geographical elements, as well as a device which retrieves and processes data, such as an operating device having a display unit. In this context, a data directory of the data present in the digital map base is transmitted to the device which retrieves and processes data, and the device which retrieves and processes data selects data, to be requisitioned from the digital map base using this data directory.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for applying glue to banderoles, more particularly banderoles for cigarette packs, comprising a glue supply, a nozzle device (7, 9, 12), a guide for the banderoles to be glued and a means for controlling glue delivery, whereby the nozzle device (7, 9, 12) comprises a glue distributor (7) which applies the glue in two streaks to the banderole by a continual contact process.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a banderole handling device including at least one cassette arranged for supplying banderoles to a banderoling machine, a closure for the discharge end of each cassette and including a cassette support, wherein each cassette is arranged substantially vertically at the cassette support and is positionable above a banderole feeder chute of the banderoling machine. In addition, the invention relates to device for arresting a cassette including banderoles relative to a banderole feeder chute of a banderoling machine, including a closure for the discharge opening of the cassette wherein the closure is configured so that it is accommodated in a receiving portion arranged in a fixed position relative to the banderoling machine or banderole feeder chute during its opening operation. The invention relates further to a system for filling cassettes with stacks of banderoles, in which the cassettes are filled by means of a banderole stack feeder.
