Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a network entity may configure a user equipment (UE) with a set of cells supporting Layer 1 (L1) mobility, Layer 2 (L2) mobility, or both for special cells (SpCells). The network entity may transmit a control signal, such as a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) or a downlink control information (DCI) message, to the UE to update an SpCell. The control signal may include a cell identifier (ID) indicating which cell to set as the SpCell. Additionally, the control signal may include a transmission/reception point (TRP) ID indicating which TRP to set as the primary TRP (pTRP) for the SpCell. In response to the control signal, the UE may switch from a current SpCell to the cell indicated by the control signal and may communicate with the network via the pTRP of the new SpCell.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to mobility techniques that allow for dynamically updating a set of cells activated to serve a user equipment (UE) and synchronizing with the cells activated to serve the UE. An example method generally includes receiving, from a network entity, signaling indicating a set of cells supported by one or more distributed units (DUs) under a common central unit (CU) and one or more timing advance groups (TAGs) for the set of cells; identifying a subset of the set of cells activated to serve the UE; receiving physical (PHY) layer or medium access control (MAC) layer mobility signaling; updating the subset of activated cells based on the mobility signaling; and communicating with the subset of activated cells based on a timing advance associated with the one or more TAGs in which the updated subset of activated cells belong.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. User equipments (UEs) and base stations may communicate in low power modes. A base station may transmit, to a UE, a configuration of a first regulation operating mode for the UE. The first regulation operating mode may be associated with one or more of a first transmit power constraint, a first frequency hopping setting, or a first LBT setting. The base station may transmit downlink communications to the UE according to a second regulation operating mode, which may be different from the first regulation operating mode. the UE may then perform uplink transmissions to the base station according to the first regulation operating mode. In some cases, the UE may also receive signaling advertising the second regulation operating mode of the base station.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to channel access contention management in a shared radio frequency band are provided. A first wireless communication device performs, during a first time period, a first clear channel assessment (CCA) in a shared radio frequency band based on a first energy detection threshold, wherein performing the first CCA comprises obtaining at least one signal energy measurement. The first wireless communication device then performs, during a second time period subsequent to the first time period, a second CCA in the shared radio frequency band based on a second energy detection threshold, the second energy detection threshold being based on the at least one signal energy measurement. The wireless communication device then transmits, to a second wireless communication device in the shared radio frequency band based on the second CCA, a communication signal.
