Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) are described. A first network node may receive, from a second network node, downlink control information based on monitoring at least one of a first physical downlink control channel candidate or a second physical downlink control channel candidate that are linked for physical downlink control channel repetition. In some examples, the second physical downlink control channel candidate may end later in time than the first physical downlink control channel candidate. The first network node may identify an absence of a scheduled physical downlink shared channel based on the downlink control information. The first network node may then transmit, to the base station, a feedback message in response to the downlink control information at least a threshold number of time units after the second physical downlink control channel candidate.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may obtain a signal received over a wireless channel, the signal configuring one or more random access parameters for the wireless channel. The UE may obtain a downlink control signal over the wireless channel, wherein the downlink control signal comprises an indication of a trigger and a location of one or more random access occasions for the UE. The UE may output, based at least in part on the downlink control signal, a random access signal for transmission on the wireless channel during at least one of the one or more random access occasions and according to the one or more random access parameters and the location. The UE may establish a connection with a base station based at least in part on the random access signal.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for a two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure are described that may enable a user equipment (UE) and a base station to perform a two-step RACH procedure and begin communications using an accurate timing advance (TA). The UE may send a first RACH message of the two-step RACH procedure to the base station. The base station may determine an accurate TA based on the contents of the first RACH message. The base station may prepare a downlink control message and a corresponding second RACH message to send to the UE. The base station may include scheduling information for the second message and an indication of the TA in the downlink control message. The base station may identify one or more data fields in bits within the downlink control message reserved for information other than the TA and replace the bits with the TA indication.

The base station may transmit a control signal over a channel of a shared radio frequency spectrum band, the control signal comprising a physical cell identifier of the cell and the signature value.

Abstract: User equipment associated with a legacy network may utilize a bottom-to-top search technique to identify relevant control channel samples. Generating a control channel that is configured for the bottom-to-top search technique may lead to poor performance in a single-carrier waveform, which may be disadvantageous as networks move toward New Radio. In some aspects, described herein, a base station generates a control channel that is configured to minimize gaps in the control channel, and a user equipment performs a top-to-bottom search technique to identify relevant control channel samples. By using the top-to-bottom search technique, degradation of single-carrier waveforms is reduced and efficiency is improved.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for a base station transmitting to a user equipment (UE) a partial bandwidth configuration for uplink transmissions, where the partial bandwidth configuration may indicate a channel interlace and a portion of a channel bandwidth, for example, for autonomous uplink (AUL) transmissions. The base station may also transmit to the UE an AUL configuration including a group identifier. The UE may determine a starting offset with respect to an AUL subframe for a partial bandwidth transmission based on the group identifier. In some cases, different UEs may be grouped into groups of UEs allocated non-overlapping resources, and UEs allocated overlapping resources may have different starting offsets to begin transmitting. According to the determined starting offset, the UE may perform the partial bandwidth transmission over the channel interlace and the portion of the channel bandwidth.
