    摘要: A portable medical training manikin with a hollow torso body with a chest plate having slotted openings provided to enable realistic flexing of the chest plate along hinges engaged with a chest compression piston. The torso body has a realistic skin covering the torso and interconnected at a hinge. A chest compression piston supports and resists chest compressions performed by a user. The chest compression piston is engaged with the central chest plate of the torso body by a quick release mechanism having detent locks for securing the piston engaged with the chest plate. A two-piece tiltable head configuration enables detachment of the back half of the head piece, and inversion for nested stacking within the front half head piece. The hollow torso body is likewise configured for convenient stacking, including the compression pistons, in a carrying container.

    摘要: An educational system for visualizing sound by a student in a laboratory. The system includes a speaker powered by an audio amplifier. A function generator or a microphone controls the amplitude and frequency of pressure waves originating from the speaker. A model of the ear canal is suspended over the speaker, the model having a plastic pipe with two open ends and a membrane stretched taut over one of the open ends with constant tension. A mirror is affixed to the membrane, creating a mass-loaded membrane. A laser pointer emits light directed toward the mirror. A screen receives a light reflection pattern created by the light reflected from the mirror, with the model ear canal, speaker, membrane, and mirror placed equidistant between the screen and the laser pointer. The system is adapted to demonstrate hearing sensitivity to a deaf or hearing-impaired person in an educational setting.

    摘要: A CPR patient training mannequin. The CPR patient training mannequin provides for training and teaching individuals in proper CPR technique. The mannequin includes a simulated torso section and simulated head section that enables a user to administer CPR and visually inspect the mannequin's response to the administration. The torso section utilizes a sensor configured to detect pressure exerted by a user performing chest compressions and includes one or more lights positioned in a simulated carotid artery and brain that are operably connected to the sensor. The lights are configured to illuminate to indicate the pressure exerted by a user. In an alternative embodiment, the torso section includes simulated lungs having lights that illuminate if a user properly performs a jaw-thrust maneuver and nose pinch on the mannequin.
