    Abstract: A paper shredder cutting assembly having an arbor, spaced-apart cutting blades on the arbor, a rigid frame set apart from and parallel to the arbor, and braces coupling the arbor to the frame. Each resilient brace is a spacer between a pair of spaced-apart cutting blades. The braces support arbor and cutting blades. The rigid frame and the braces cooperate to strengthen, and to reduce translational motion of the arbor, while allowing rotation of the arbor. Each brace has a brace body, a brace tang extending therefrom, and a brace tab extending perpendicularly from the brace tang. Each brace tab is aligned with another along an edge of the rigid frame, the brace bodies are spacers between the cutting blades, and the brace tabs impair translational motion of the brace bodies. A paper shredder with a motor, gearing, and counterposing cutting assemblies has motion-limited resilient spacers adjacent to cutting blades.

    Abstract: A regenerated cutting blade to be mounted and used in a shearing type grinder. The cutting blade includes a fixed part and a blade tip projecting outward from this fixed part, in which the blade tip has a leading edge pointed toward the rotating direction. Side edges 110 on the lateral side outer periphery including the blade tip, the leading end edge and the side edges are regenerated and formed by build-up welding. The lateral sides are provided with slip preventive build-up welding parts 111, 112, 113 extending from the side edges 110 toward the central side of its rotation or the central direction, and the build-up welding parts are formed by three regenerating processes.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a comminuting machine (8) with a rotor system, in particular a knife ring flaker, in which the feedstock is conveyed pneumatically in the axial direction into the central region of the rotor (10) and is conveyed in the radial direction to the comminuting tools arranged around the rotor (10) in the manner of a ring. In order to uniformly wear the knives extending in the axial direction in such devices, it is proposed to provide in the central region (14) an insert (15) which is rotatably driven by a motor (22) and which has separate chambers (16, 17) with which the feedstock entering said chambers is dispensed at axially and radially to different regions. This insert (15) can, in particular, be designed as a rotor, which has a plurality of chambers which are especially shaped in the cross-section in the manner of a circular sector.

    Abstract: A secondary shredder can include a rotor assembly that employs a modular rotor design. Each rotor of the rotor assembly can include a number of blades that are symmetrical around a horizontal and a vertical axis. Each rotor can include a number of radial extensions forming gaps into which the blades insert. The blades can be secured within the gaps by wedges that apply an inward force against the blades when the wedges are secured into the gaps. The radial extensions and blades can include keyways into which keys insert to prevent the blades from escaping the gaps. The secondary shredder may also include a stationary knife assembly that includes multiple stationary knives that are positioned on the same side of the rotor assembly.
