An arcuate flat portion (26) located rearwardly of the straight portion (20) comprises two arcuate arms (29) forming a slot (28) opening toward the rear of the handle (10). The slot (28) is adapted to receive a pintle (56) connected to a link (54) which interconnects a set of adjustable louvers (52).

At least one shutter is mounted within the housing, with one end of one shutter element being associated with a bimetallic spring, the inner end of which is received within an opening in one housing side wall. An outer end of the spring is secured to the shutter. A size-adjustable installation device includes a threaded portion which engages a threaded opening in the housing or in a member held non-rotatable relative to the housing. One end of the threaded portion is integral with a non-threaded distal portion having a diameter less than the diameter of the threaded portion and carrying thereon the small diameter end of a conically shaped compression spring. Variations in ambient temperature cause the shutter element to open and close automatically.

摘要： An electric fan heater includes a stationary housing and a louver blade assembly having a plurality of oscillating louver blades located forwardly in the housing for providing multidirectional hot air flow from the heater. The heater also includes a drive system for the louver blade assembly with the drive system comprising lightweight plastic drive gears and a small rubber drive belt located rearwardly in the housing as well as a lightweight plastic connecting shaft extending forwardly from the drive gears to the louver blade assembly. The electric heating element for providing hot air from the heater is positioned between the louver blade assembly and the plastic drive gears. The gears and connecting shaft are located in the housing laterally outwardly from the heating element to avoid direct exposure to the heat therefrom. A common motor is used to operate both the heater and the fan blade which is positioned to move the hot air forwardly from the heating element out past the louver blades and away from the drive gears and to draw cooling air to the drive gears, connecting shaft and rubber drive belt which is further protected by a heat shield between the heating element and the drive belt.

摘要： Within the vent system of an air conditioning unit or the heating system at least one flap is pivotably mounted such as to be moveable between a closed position blocking flow through the conditioned air vent, and an open position allowing conditioned air to pass through the vent and into one or more rooms to be serviced by the conditioned air. One or more stops are provided to cease pivotable movement of the flap when the open position is reached. Preferably more than one flap is utilized. Preferably gravity is utilized to bias the flap into the closed position so that when the heating or air conditioning blower is turned off the flap will return to the closed position. The flap is also moveable manually between the open and closed positions, thereby a room or rooms which are not to be heated or cooled may be blocked off from the air conditioning or heating system by the manual closing of the flap.
