    摘要: A method for providing an anti-icing airflow, including extracting a compressed airflow from a core flow path of an engine, heating the compressed airflow, mixing the heated compressed airflow with air extracted from a bypass flow path to create the anti-icing airflow having a higher temperature and pressure than that of the air extracted from the bypass flow path, and circulating the anti-icing airflow away from the bypass flow path. Also, an assembly located at least in part inside a turbofan engine and including a heat exchanger, a flow mixing device having a first inlet in the bypass flow path, a second inlet and an outlet, a first conduit providing fluid communication between the heat exchanger and a compressed air portion of the core flow path, a second conduit providing fluid communication between the heat exchanger and the second inlet, and a third conduit in fluid communication with the outlet.

    摘要: A computer-implemented method for designing a gas turbine exhaust diffuser includes a computer identifying an initial diffuser design and performing a design refinement process. The design refinement process includes generating a new diffuser design by modifying the initial diffuser design according to one or more objective functions and one or more design constraints. A fluid velocity pattern associated with the new diffuser design is determined and used to compute particle tracing lines through an internal portion of the new diffuser design. The particle tracing lines are grouped into particle line bundles extending longitudinally within the new diffuser design and an average path is computed for each particle line bundle. Then, for each respective average path, a rigid tube capable of channeling gases through the internal portion of the new diffuser design is generated and added to the new diffuser design.

The exhaust silencer system may be attached to a front end of the trailer and may include a diffuser system, a lower exhaust elbow silencer coupled to and in fluid communication with the diffuser system, and an upper exhaust elbow in fluid communication with the lower exhaust elbow silencer and comprising an outlet. The noise attenuation assembly includes an exhaust silencer unit mounted to a top end of the trailer. The exhaust silencer unit includes an inlet in fluid communication with the outlet of the upper exhaust elbow of the exhaust silencer system.

    摘要: The invention refers to an APU compartment, and a method for extinguishing a fire in an APU compartment. The APU compartment (1) comprises an APU (2), an exhaust (5), an aperture (7) providing a passage between the APU compartment (1) and the inside of the exhaust (5), and a fire detection system, wherein the APU compartment (1) of the invention is constructed as an air tight compartment, and additionally comprises a conduit (9) for providing external air to the APU compartment (1), a door (8) for closing the conduit (9) inlet, and a control unit (6) configured to close the door (8) when a fire is detected, such that when the door (8) is closed and the APU (2) is in operation, the air contained in the APU compartment (1) is sucked through the aperture (7) to be expelled out of the APU compartment (1) to extinguish the fire.

    摘要: A retractable exhaust liner segment according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, at least one liner segment extending between a forward end and an aft end. The forward end of the at least one liner segment is configured to overlap an aft end of an engine structure and the aft end of the at least one liner segment is configured to overlap a forward end of an exhaust liner when in an assembled position. The at least one liner is configured such that a gap exists between the at least one liner segment and one of the engine structure and the exhaust liner when the at least one liner segment is moved along an axis in a first direction to a disassembled position. The gap closes as the at least one liner segment is moved along the axis in a second, different direction to the assembled position.
