摘要： Apparatus for positively encouraging a flow of feed from a bulk storage bin to a receiver or conveyor and for supporting the weight of feed in the bin is disclosed. A rotating disk mounted in the plane of the bin exhaust forms apertures with the bin sides and an exhaust collar. These apertures encourage flow of feed from the bin and uniform delivery to the receiver or conveyor. A wand, carried by the rotating plate, extends into the bin to dislodge feed packed or bridged across the bin exhaust opening.

摘要： Alternate vanes on the valve of a rotary feeder for feeding particulate material effect clearances with the surrounding feeder housing surface to effect desired, controlled flow of the particulate material. The clearances between the alternate vanes and the housing may comprise a variety of forms such as notches disposed in the alternate vane distal edges. Also, the radial length of the alternate vanes may be shortened to effect the desired clearances. Such clearances also greatly increase the permissible feeding rates.

摘要： A powder-feeding method and apparatus according to which it is possible to provide one or a plurality of powder-feeding flows in which the powder is fed at a substantially constant rate which is of relatively small magnitude. A cone of powder is maintained substantially centrally of a disc which is rotated at a constant speed. A coarse scraper blade extends inwardly across the periphery of the disc into the cone of powder thereon substantially radially with respect to the disc so that the coarse scraper blade removes some powder on one side of the blade while leaving on the disc on the other side of the blade a layer of powder the depth of which is determined by the distance between the bottom edge of the coarse scraper blade and the top surface of the disc. Into this layer there projects a precision scraper blade the bottom edge of which is closely adjacent to the upper surface of the disc, so that by way of this precision scraper blade it is possible to remove from the layer of predetermined depth powder which drops from the edge of the disc at a substantially constant rate capable of providing a precision powder feeding rate of relatively small magnitude.

摘要： Feeder mechanism, suitable for use in a high-temperature furnace, comprises a rotatable, height-adjustable flat disc located axially below an outlet of a particulate raw material hopper and above (or within) but mounted on a rotatable funnel. Upon rotation of the disc and funnel, particulate raw material is gravity fed from the hopper onto the disc, then falls off the edge of the disc at a constant rate and is caught by the funnel which transports the raw material to a processing area, e.g. a crystal growing furnace, outside of the high-temperature furnace. A motor-driven, magnetically coupled mechanism for rotating the disc and funnel, and a threaded rod combined with nuts (along with bellows) for adjusting the separation between the disc and the hopper outlet (to control flow rate of the raw material), are provided outside of the space, e.g. high-temperature furnace, in which the combined hopper-disc-funnel are located.

摘要： A silo, or bin, for flowable materials, especially heavy particulate solid materials. The bin has a bottom wall with a cylindrical wall upstanding therefrom. The bottom wall has a radial discharge opening formed therein and a rotor positioned above the bottom wall sweeps material into the opening. The bin has a guiding body on the axis which tapers in the downward direction and mounted inside the bin side wall are brake members which incline downwardly toward the axis of the bin and are preferably within the axial range of the guiding body.

摘要： Apparatus for transporting particulate material between first and second zones separated by a dividing wall. A pair of cooperating rollers are sealingly located in an aperture in the wall and are rotated so that material coming into contact with either roll is transported through the nip between the rollers from the first to the second zone. In a particular embodiment, the rollers are located below a cleaning blade acting on a photoreceptor drum and toner dropping from the blade onto the lower roller which runs against the photo-receptor surface is fed into a toner collecting box. The arrangement permits the toner to build up in the toner box above the level of the toner entry point.
