Abstract:
A tire changing machine comprises a chassis base and a rotatable wheel holder configured to retain a wheel rim. A tower, carrying a mount/demount head movable toward and away from the wheel rim, extends upward from the chassis base. An inflation cage is fixed with respect to the chassis base. The inflation cage defines an interior accessible through a first opening for ingress and egress of a vehicle wheel. Preferably, the inflation cage may be located at a back of the tire changer to rest on a common floor surface with the chassis base.
Abstract:
A wheel servicing machine provides a rotatable shaft having a retractable rod slidably disposed in a center bore of the rotatable shaft, wherein the retractable rod is longitudinally moveable relative to the shaft. A rotatable locking member is disposed on the distal end of the retractable rod. The locking member includes one or more mounting studs protruding radially therefrom for engaging a centering cone or a wheel clamp. A tool support arm including a stage protrudes from the base. A tool adapted for engaging a sidewall of a tire is attached to support arm. A second stage including a second tool configured for engaging the opposite sidewall of the tire may also extend from the base. A platform assembly having one or more spring-loaded rollers is attached to the base in some embodiments. A longitudinally moveable travel arm with a jointed auxiliary arm is also provided. A wheel clamp having a plurality of arms, wherein at least one arm is moveable relative to at least one other arm, is also provided. A method of securing a wheel to a wheel servicing machine is also provided.
Abstract:
An apparatus for fitting or removing tyre to or from a rim 1 of a vehicle wheel comprising a hooked tool 2 which is controlledly moved in a pivotal connection location 4 along a sliding guide 11 and in a second pivotal connection location connected to a link lever, on a tool holder 5, wherein the control movement of a rod-shaped control portion 10 is transmitted to the tool 2 by way of the gear transmission 9.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a rotatable wheel rim support group designed to be mounted on an assembling-disassembling machine. The support group includes at least one pair of annular plate-shaped members designed to abut against the wheel rim on a side opposite to that of a removable locking device, the plate-shaped members being arranged facing and approachable to and retractable from one another about a control shaft, a plurality of friction engagement members disposed angularly displaced and partly formed in one of the annular plate-shaped members and partly in the other, and support and rotational motion transmission members between the control shaft and one of the annular plate-shaped members.
Abstract:
A device designed for demounting a tire from a rim at least one of whose seats is inclined outwards, the device being in the form of an insert (4) of length (L) with three faces and whose cross-section in a transverse plane is triangular overall with a contour formed by two long sides (41, 42) and a short side (43), the angle between the long sides being close to the angle between the rim seats and the rotation axis, the length of the short side being essentially equal to the height of the projection of the outward-inclined rim seat, this insert (4) comprising on its face intended to come in contact with a bead seat at least one relief (421, 422) designed to interact with said bead seat (11) so as to keep the insert engaged with the bead.
Abstract:
An automatic device (1) for mounting and dismounting a tire (100) onto/from the rim (201) of a wheel (120) associated with a tire-dismounting machine (100) comprising a lower base (101) on which are associated rotating support and locking means (102) of the rim (201) of a wheel, a pole (103) extending vertically associated with said base (101), a horizontal support arm (104) associated with said pole (103), said device comprising a mobile shaft (2b) that can slide vertically inside a pipe (2) supported so that it can slide horizontally on said arm (104), an articulated quadrilateral made up of a tire-dismounting tool (4), a pair of opposite connecting rods (13, 14) and a body (6) fixed to the lower end of the mobile shaft (2b), and a manoeuvring lever (7) articulated with said quadrilateral and suitable for deforming it to transmit the roto-translating motion to the tool (4) that goes from a seeking configuration to an extraction configuration of the bead (202′) from the rim (201).
Abstract:
The tire removal machine comprises an upper member (15) which rigidly supports the rim of a wheel positioned coaxial to it, and is positioned at the top of a coaxial vertical rotary shaft (12) projecting upwards from a machine casing (11). The device of the invention comprises a support means (20) for supporting a wheel resting thereon, and transfer means for raising and lowering the support means (20) to move it from a first position, in which the means (20) is disposed close to the floor surface in order to receive/unload the wheel, to an upwardly raised position in which the wheel rests on said upper member (15), and vice versa.
Abstract:
Apparatus for inflating a wheel-mounted tire on a high production basis comprises a platen supported on a frame beneath an inflation head on which the wheel-mounted tire is received. The platen has internal air passages opening opposite a fixed support plate of the frame through which pressurized air is directed to selectively float the platen above the support plate to facilitate near-frictionless horizontal movement of the platen in all radial directions. A centering device locates the wheel-mounted tire precisely in line with the inflation head after which the air is discontinued to lower the platen back onto the support plate. The inflation head is then operated to inflate the tire. The platen is refloated and centered in a home position by a platen centering device.
Abstract:
A handling robot includes an articulated arm movable in three directions, which carries a gripper at its free end for gripping and holding pneumatic tires. The pneumatic tire is held on its running surface by the gripper, taken from a provision position and moved to an optional wetting station for wetting the pneumatic tire with lubricant. The wetted pneumatic tire is then moved to an assembly station with a clamping device for releasably holding a wheel rim, which comprises a handling device with an assembly head equipped with assembly tools that can be guided along between the tire bead and the wheel rim flange. Here, the pneumatic tire is mounted on the wheel rim by a coordinated movement of the handling robot and the assembly head.
