摘要： A paint pad allows a user to produce a unique finish to a surface without having to wear gloves. The pad includes a base having an upper surface and a lower surface. A painting medium, such as a sponge, chamois leather, chenille, loofah, synthetic foam or cloth, is connected to the lower surface of the base. A handle extends from the upper surface of the base. Preferably, the handle and base form a one piece structure made of polystyrene foam or a lightweight plastic. The handle and base have shapes and thicknesses for maximizing user control of over the painting medium and for preventing the user's hand from contacting the painting medium and the surface being painted. In one preferred embodiment, the base and handle are both circular, with the handle extending from a center of the base and with the diameter of the base being greater than the diameter of the handle. In other preferred embodiments, the handle and base are both generally rectangular, with the width of the handle being less than the width of the base. The present paint pad provides for even paint distribution, is long lasting and is economical. In preferred embodiments, the paint pad is packaged in a single paper or paperboard sheet having a front panel, a back panel and a middle panel connecting bottom edges of the front and back panels. The back panel includes a cutout region for receiving the handle of the paint pad.

摘要： A device for the application and manipulation of paint includes a handle having a distal end and a proximal end and a working tip. The working tip is comprised of a flexible, polymer material and has a proximal end that includes structure defining at least one aperture or channel. A cavity is located at the distal end of the handle into which the proximal end of the working tip is inserted. The working tip is secured in the cavity by a flowable adhesive material which at least partially penetrates the aperture or channel prior to curing. The cured adhesive material adheres to at least a portion of an interior surface of the cavity and forms solid pins in the apertures or corresponding ridges in the channels of the proximal end of the working tip, thereby securing the working tip within the cavity. Methods for creating a device in accordance with the present invention, either with or without a ferrule are also disclosed. Preferably, the working tip is made of silicone or a polymer material having surface release characteristics similar to silicone.

摘要： A craft package for making a three dimensional utilitarian object, such as an instrument face, includes a first package portion of rigid transparent PVC with a wall thickness of between about 0.30-0.60 inches having a mold-shaped interior in the configuration or reverse configuration of a three dimensional object. A second package portion is fixed to the first package portion to form a container having an interior, and the second package portion is preferably another rigid plastic element having a mold-shaped interior in the configuration or reverse configuration of a second three dimensional object. A moldable material, such as plaster of paris, dry quick setting cementitious material, or a synthetic polymer curable at a temperature lower than the degradation temperature of the first package portion, is disposed in non-activated form within the container interior, and is of sufficient volume to form one of the three dimensional objects. Paint and a paint applicator may also be mounted within the container interior. An instrument face, when formed, has outwardly extending or recessed instrument face markings and it may be painted or otherwise decorated once cured and removed from the first or second package portion mold-shaped interior.

摘要： A paint roller cleaning apparatus includes a hollow pipe with notches formed at the lower end to permit fluid to escape from the interior of the pipe. A tubular spray arm is rotatably mounted within the pipe and has a plurality of vertically aligned and spaced apart apertures to spray cleaning fluid along the length of a paint roller positioned within the pipe. An elbow at the top of the paint arm projects out from the pipe and is connected by a flexible hose to a source of water or other cleaning fluid. A clip on the exterior of the pipe will grip the support rod of a paint roller, and a slot in the upper edge of the pipe will receive the support rod so that the paint roller will be journaled in a vertical orientation with the roller longitudinal axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the spray arm.

摘要： A bifurcated paint roller and painting method using such. The paint roller is a hand tool having two roller portions, which each of the roller portions having a nap for picking up and spreading paint. The roller portions are spaced transversely from each other and rotate independently of the other. A paint pan is provided with the bifurcated paint roller and is itself bifurcated. The paint pan includes two receptacle portions, each of which holds a paint having a different characteristic. A divider separates the receptacle portions such that the paints having the different characteristics are prevented from mixing. The distal end of the hand tool includes an open ended slot for reception of the divider such that each of the roller portions is dippable into their respective paints. Alternatively, the hand tool may include tubes mounted thereon and feeding paint to the roller portions. A painting method includes the steps of applying a paint having a first characteristic to a surface, rolling the roller portions with paint having respective second and third characteristics across the surface, and pressing and removing a plastic sheeting to the surface immediately after either or both of the painting steps. The hand tool and method provides a quick and easy method of achieving an effect identical to sponge or rag painting. Especially preferred for the first characteristic is a texture, and especially preferred for the second and third characteristics are second and third micaceous materials to achieve mixed pearlescent effects.
