Abstract: A sound pickup method includes splitting a sound pickup signal of a microphone of which sound pickup in a predetermined range is blocked by an acoustic obstacle, into a plurality of sound pickup signals and subjecting at least one sound pickup signal among the plurality of sound pickup signals to band limitation processing, and comparing characteristic amounts of the plurality of sound pickup signals including the sound pickup signal after being subjected to the band limitation processing and controlling a gain of the microphone in accordance with a result of comparing the characteristic amounts.

Abstract: An active acoustics management system for the loudspeaker back-enclosure, including a first loudspeaker having a front side and a back side connected by side walls, the front facing in a first direction, is presented. An enclosure surrounds a portion of the first loudspeaker, such that the enclosure is open about the front side of the first loudspeaker and is closed about the side walls and the back side of the loudspeaker. A second loudspeaker is disposed within the enclosure behind the first loudspeaker, the second loudspeaker being oriented to output waveforms in the first direction, wherein the second loudspeaker is adapted to output waveforms in the first direction thereby to cancel at least some waveforms emanating from the back side of the first loudspeaker, using active control strategies.

Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a system for providing a frequency dependent dynamic leakage for noise cancellation is provided. The system includes a noise cancellation controller and a current limiter. The noise cancellation controller is programmed to perform noise cancellation in a vehicle based on a limited input signal. The current limiter is programmed to receive a reference signal from one of an accelerometer or a loudspeaker and to convert the reference signal from a time domain and into a frequency domain to limit the reference signal. The current limiter is further programmed to generate the limited input signal in response to limiting the reference signal.

Abstract: A vehicle includes an interface device, an in-vehicle control unit, a functional unit, and a processing circuitry. The interface device receives a spoken command to identify an in-cabin vehicle zone of two or more in-cabin vehicle zones of the vehicle, and receives background audio data concurrently with a portion of the spoken command. The in-cabin vehicle control unit separates the background audio data from the spoken command, and selects which in-cabin vehicle zone of the two or more in-cabin vehicle zones is identified by the spoken command. The functional unit controls a function within the vehicle. The processing circuitry stores, to a command buffer, data processed from the received spoken command, and controls, based on the data processed from the received spoken command, the functional unit using audio input received from the selected in-cabin vehicle zone.

Abstract: A system and method for controlling noise originating from a source external to a vehicle is disclosed. The method includes determining, by an active noise controller of a vehicle, characteristics of an unwanted noise. The unwanted noise originates from a source external to the vehicle. The method also includes determining an inverted noise based on the characteristics of the unwanted noise. The method also includes projecting the inverted noise. The projected inverted noise destructively interferes with the unwanted noise. The method also includes receiving a residual noise via an error microphone. The error microphone is configured to generate a signal based on the received residual noise.

The grinding section has a rotatable shredder plate that is rotated by a motor of a motor section. Active noise sound waves (310) are radiated into an area (313) where the food waste disposer noise is to be controlled at an amplitude and frequency to at least cancel or mask the food waste disposer noise.
