Abstract:
Various embodiments of a rotatable awning with illumination are provided. The awning includes an axial groove wherein a plurality of luminaires are located for lighting of an area below and around an extended awning. The awning includes an electromechanical rotatable conductor which provides electrical contact between a fixed portion of the awning assembly and the rotating awning roller tube. This allows for flow through of electricity or current to the luminaires and/or the awning motor internally through the roller tube.
Abstract:
An illumination apparatus for illuminating an interior surface of a shelter assembly is provided. The illumination apparatus includes an illumination structure coupled to the interior surface, wherein the illumination structure includes a reflective material. A light source supporting structure is coupled to the interior surface and configured to selectively position a light source in relation to the reflective material.
Abstract:
A temporary prefabricated shelter for providing a temporary shelter which can be deployed quickly and in mass and secured through a central, internal anchor. The temporary prefabricated shelter comprises an underlying frame apparatus having disposed thereon a shell structure. The frame apparatus includes a first elongated rigid structural member and a second elongated rigid structural member fastened together at an anchor point. The structural members are identical and each have bent endpoints configured to contact a ground surface. An eyehook fastened to a ground surface provides a fixed point to which the frame apparatus can be attached and anchored to the ground surface through an adjustable strap. The shell structure is a rigid body contoured to fit to over the frame apparatus and be fastened thereto. The body of the shell structure additionally includes two windows, an air vent, a door, an electrical input box, and a light.
Abstract:
A collapsible structure comprises elongated frame members assembled together and one or more lighting elements, and can further comprise panels attached to the frame members to at least partially enclose the structure volume. The lighting elements are integrally mounted on the frame members to illuminate the structure volume or an area around the structure. The frame members can include an integral power source connected to the lighting elements. Frame members can comprise telescoping inner and outer frame members with the lighting elements integrally mounted on the inner frame member and retractable with the inner frame member to be enclosed within the outer frame member. Applying power to the lighting elements can illuminate a deployment area while assembling together the frame members.
Abstract:
A portable shelter with low emissivity is provided for sheltering materials or human occupants at a remote location. The shelter has a flexible, multi-layer cover, including a vinyl material, reflective material located inside and immediately adjacent to the vinyl material, and insulation material located inside the reflective material. The low-ε vinyl cover is lightweight and thermally efficient. The shelter may be adapted for use with interior-climate control equipment at the remote location.
Abstract:
A solar awning system is provided with a spool housing containing a sheet of flexible solar light array material rolled into a spool within the spool housing. The spool is rotatably mounted for spooling and unspooling the flexible sheet to and from the spool housing. The spool housing may be attached to a wall or other object or mounted on supports to quickly provide a shaded and lighted region at a desired location. The flexible sheet is quickly retracted into the spool housing to pack up, whereupon the spool housing protects the flexible solar light array material for subsequent use.
Abstract:
A lighting apparatus having at least one set of light sources, a microprocessor, and an orientation sensor. The microprocessor and the orientation sensor are capable of maintaining the light source in a desired orientation. The lighting apparatus and devices having a lighting apparatus are capable of controlling the plurality of light sources to maintain the desired orientation of the lighting. The lighting apparatus may be connected to a device, such as a piece of wheeled luggage, stroller or hat, such that when the luggage is tilted the light source maintains an desired orientation relative to a fixed orientation, such as a horizontal orientation.
Abstract:
An electrical system (60, 200) for a tent or shelter (98, 201). Wires (60) are routed through a tent or shelter (98, 201) either by attaching the wires to the tent or shelter, running the wires through hems, seams (100), or sleeves, or integrating the wires into the fabric for the tent or shelter. In accordance with an embodiment, an appliance (208) is connected to the wiring harness (60) and is mounted or attached in the tent or shelter. The appliance (208) may be mounted in a socket (234) that includes contacts that may engage a fixture or appliance, such as a light. An opposite end of a cord (222) leading to the socket is attachable to an electrical power supply, such as a battery pack (203).
