    Abstract: Wireless communication techniques that include QoS techniques for scheduling transmission of QUIC streams in a wireless communication system are discussed. A wireless communication device may receive a data packet having a header that includes a first plurality of fields. The wireless communication device may also schedule transmission of the data packet based on QoS parameters associated with the first plurality of fields. The transmission of the data packet may be scheduled based on QoS parameters associated with the first plurality of fields when the first plurality of fields match a second plurality of fields. Other features are also described.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates in some aspects to location reporting and paging for satellite communication. In one aspect, the disclosure relates to a user terminal (UT) sending a message to report information about the UT's location. A threshold may be used to control whether (e.g., when) the UT reports its location. The location information may be used to enforce area (e.g., country) restrictions for the UT. In one aspect, the disclosure relates to forwarding paging messages between network access controllers. For example, a network access controller that is not able to page a UT may forward a paging message to another network access controller. In one aspect, the disclosure relates to a list of paging areas that indicates where a UT need not perform a paging area update.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In an example ingress point of a wireless communication network, a method includes receiving a first ethernet frame comprising a precision time protocol (PTP) message at a first node and determining an ingress time for the PTP message, generating a packet data unit (PDU) for transmission to a second node of the wireless communication network based at least in part on the first ethernet frame by overwriting a field in the PTP message with a value corresponding to the ingress time, and sending the PDU to the second node. An egress point method may include receiving a PDU comprising a PTP message, determining an ingress time from a field in the PTP message overwritten with a value corresponding to the ingress time, and determining an adjustment for a timing parameter based at least in part on the ingress time.

    Abstract: Local IP access is provided in a wireless network to facilitate access to one or more local services. In some implementations, different IP interfaces are used for accessing different services (e.g., local services and operator network services). A list that maps packet destinations to IP interfaces may be employed to determine which IP interface is to be used for sending a given packet. In some implementations an access point provides a proxy function (e.g., a proxy ARP function) for an access terminal. In some implementations an access point provides an agent function (e.g., a DHCP function) for an access terminal. NAT operations may be performed at an access point to enable the access terminal to access local services. In some aspects, an access point may determine whether to send a packet from an access terminal via a protocol tunnel based on the destination of the packet.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to handoff of a user terminal in communication with a gateway through a satellite in a non-geosynchronous satellite communication system. In some aspects, a gateway and a user terminal use a satellite and beam transition table to determine when to handoff the user terminal from one beam to another and/or from one satellite to another. In some aspects, a user terminal sends capability information, location information, or other information to a gateway whereby, based on this information, the gateway generates a satellite and beam transition table and/or selects a handoff procedure for the user terminal. In some aspects, handoff of a user terminal to a different satellite involves the user terminal conducting satellite signal measurements and sending a measurement message to the gateway. In some aspects, the gateway generates a new satellite and beam transition table as a result of receiving a measurement message.
