    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine that a phase-tracking reference signal (PTRS) will not be transmitted based at least in part on a mapping value associated with transmitting the PTRS, and may identify another mapping value associated with transmitting the PTRS, wherein the other mapping value is different from the mapping value. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may identify a symbol in which a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) is to be muted, and may map, based at least in part on a mapping value configured on the wireless communication device, a PTRS relative to the symbol in which the DMRS is to be muted. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: The techniques described herein provide procedures at user equipment (UEs) for performing channel state information (CSI) reporting and sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions based on an ultra-reliable low latency communication (URLLC) block error rate (BLER) target and for reliably receiving PDCCH transmissions. For CSI reporting, a UE may be configured to generate a CSI report based on a BLER target and on received CSI reference signals (CSI-RSs), where the CSI-RSs may be transmitted on one or more groups of quasi co-located antenna ports. For SRS transmissions, a UE may be configured to transmit SRS based on an SRS configuration determined based on a BLER target. For receiving PDCCH transmissions, a UE may be configured to receive and combine DCI received from multiple base stations.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for transmit power control for positioning using non-serving cells are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine that an uplink reference signal may be associated with a positioning procedure. In some cases, the positioning procedure may include transmission, by the UE, of the reference signal to a non-serving cell, which may be farther away from the UE than a serving cell. The UE may determine an absence of a parameter associated with a transmit power for transmitting the reference signal. Based on the absence, the UE may determine the transmit power based on parameters received from a serving cell, based on configuration information, based on a message intercepted from the non-serving cell, or based on other considerations or information. In some cases, the UE may determine the transmit power such that the likelihood of the non-serving cell receiving the reference signal is increased.

    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for generating a positioning beacon sequence suitable for use in a wireless network that utilizes beamformed communication. More particularly, the positioning beacon sequence may be generated based on a first sequence that depends on a link identifier and does not depend on a beam index assigned to a beam used to transmit the positioning beacon in combination with a second sequence that depends on the beam index and does not depend on the link identifier. For example, the first sequence and the second sequence may be XORed to obtain the final beacon sequence, or the first sequence and the second sequence may be modulated and multiplied to obtain the final beacon sequence. Furthermore, in practice, the beacon sequence may be generated using a pseudo-random sequence generator initialized with a seed in which the link identifier and the beam index are treated as separate subcomponents.

    Abstract: Narrowband (NB) Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) demodulation reference signals (DMRS) bundling coverage enhancements are disclosed. In some aspects, NB PDCCH DMRS bundling resources and timing are allocated in a virtual domain by a transmitting device, such as a base station. In some aspects the allocated resources are control channel elements (CCEs); the CCEs are allocated according to a pattern in the virtual domain. The base station may transmit NB PDCCH transmissions and corresponding DMRS transmissions in physical domain resources that correspond to the virtual domain resources, the CCE allocation pattern. In some aspects, the NB PDCCH DMRS can be used with PDCCH repetitions. To illustrate, a base station may repeat a PDCCH transmission (e.g., payload data thereof) in multiple particular PDCCH candidates of a plurality of PDCCH candidates. The particular PDCCH candidates may be identified based on PDCCH candidate number or a reference slot or search space set occasion.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for signaling a semi-static configuration for demodulation reference signal (DMRS) bundling across non-uniform bundles of transmission time intervals (TTIs). A base station may transmit control signaling to a user equipment (UE) that schedules resources for DMRSs and associated data channels across the TTIs. For example, the base station may transmit a bundling configuration to the UE that may configure a bundling sequence defining an order for the bundles and a number of TTIs for each bundle. Based on the control signaling, the UE may determine a reference signal bundling pattern for receiving the DMRSs and the associated data channels, where the reference signal bundling pattern may indicate the bundling sequence. The UE may accordingly receive the DMRSs and the associated data channels and perform channel estimation on the data channels.
